I saw one for sale in MD last year that had Lo/Jack put in it. I haven't looked into it but I'm sure that it is pretty penny. I do know that insurance companies will drop some $$$ from your rate if you have it. Not sure if it would be enough to off set the cost of getting it. Some of the other after market alrams that i have seen are Cliffard, Viper, UNGO, and Apline. I have an UNGO in my truck and the "radar" coverage it gives is great. My Blazer is a converitable so I needed something that could cover people putting their hands in side. If I were going to get one for my kat that would be it.

Good luck on what ever you decide to get. I'm sure that a lot of owners will pipe up with what they have.

I have an anti-theft system by TeleTrac. If the system is activated they attempt to contact me by various methods and if it is stolen then they can locate the car and tell the police exactly where it is. Similar to OnStar but OnStar is for GM only.

LoJack is a good system and is pretty much nationwide but if you vehicle is determined to be stolen, the officers need special equipment in their vehicle and they triangulate the location by driving around following a digital pointer.

Hope that helps.

My dealer offers an anti-theft system for all Chrysler convertibles. It can go in Sebrings, prowlers, etc. It goes off if you stick your arm in the car with the top down. Anyone know how well this works?

Also how well does the existing prowler alarm work...mine seems kind of lame to me. Mine only goes off if something is shut. Take the situation where my top is down, doors are locked, and the alarm is set. Someone can reach in unlock the door, open the door, take whatever is in the car (cell, cds, etc), and as long as the thief doesn't shut the door as he leaves the alarm won't go off. Does this seem right to you? Same with the hood and trunk (if you can call it that).

I got a Clifford G4 in my hummer open top. if you walk up to it,it beeps and you can adjust it for how senseative you want it. I got mine that when it rain just the water running down the glass sets it off for a short time and if you put your arm in side the truck it will go off

I thought about putting an alarm in mine when I first got it, but after many times of listening to those annoying car alarms all over different parts of the world and no one doing anything about them except wishing someone would shut it off and looking away not caring I thought no I hardly ever leave it out of my site. It has the door alarm on the key fob I know what it sounds like so I feel comfortable with that.

Al, the system that Chrysler is selling is a radar alarm. It senses heat and movement. I have the same thing in my kat but it is by Alpine. It works great! It doubles as a garage alarm, if my garage door goes up and the alarm is set, it senses the movement and goes off LOL. I would not recommend the alarm that senses the outside, just inside.

If leaving the cat outside, unattended, just pull the fuse to the fuel pump relay out. Will start and run for a minute, but it isn't going anywhere. JMO

I had a LO/JACK in the car since 1998.
It did get me a deeper discount on my Insurance.
Of course you can use the Salasman method just don't
lose the fuse. Or then a gain the could use a tow truck to steal the car that's the new rage out here. So fuse or not
it is gone.

Clifford G4 is the best conventional alarm out there I believe. I have it on mine and I leave it parked out where the police dept. moved because it was too bad. I don't leave it out there all night, but an hour or two, no problems what-so-ever.
