I leave in the morning for a business trip to Chicago and then to Wisconsin to pick up my kat with the new 4.0 Stroker motor. Norm has it running and will tune (it's running lean right now) an dyno soon. I 'll be driving it home ( I hope, I hope) late Friday or Saturday. ------------------ |

John - I just hope the lean problem can be fixed easily. The old engine ran WAY rich. I hope it is lean because of all the extra HP the fuel has to feed! |

Thanks butchee. I don't enough to know how big a deal it will be to adjust it so it does not run lean. I have Perfect Power SMT5i piggyback unit they have attached to the ECU. Hope it helps the tuning process. Marty |

Congrats Marty, I'm running the SMT6 and there hasn't been anything we haven't been able to switch or profile with it yet so fuel mappings should be no problem. Have fun |

The new 4.0 stroker is STRONG out of the hole. YES - it will spin the tires. Still need to get more fuel to engine at midrange as it flattens out due to running lean. Since my ECU is not stock and it was modified because my old engine ran VERY rich, we are going to get a stcok ECU in it and adjust with a piggyback ECU system for tuning. 1sta nd second gear are a BLAST but should pick up another 20 or so HP with more fuel. I am pumped. Marty |

Norm thinks tuning with more fuel is good for another 20 - 25 HP based on the readings so far. It is so much fun to drive. This is the way it should have been from the factory. The difference between 220 rear wheel HP and 220 HP with a lot of torque is unbelievable. TOrque is KING! |
