Well I just installed the front mud flaps. Easy install without removing wheel (15 min.). I did not cut them because in So. California we don't have to worry to much about backing out of pot holes.
After a 10 mile drive the mud flaps were full of brake dust and road grime. The side of the cat was as clean as when we left (although the fender over the wheel did have some dust on it) What a difference. If you do not have them they are definitely worth considering.
Backs go on next week. -- On back order at dealer.

Thats great,, now when you put the ceramic brake pads on, you won't even have the brake dust.

Actually the Kat is at the shop now having the oil & filter changed lube and front pads put on. Can't wait to get it back.

That's probably true but aren't there alot of speed bumps out there, I found when I had my Prowler a 3/4" trim was just right. JMO

Your right. So do I trim or not? It seems to be pretty evenly divided. What to do --what to do?

Well, you can drive with them not trimmed for a few days and see if you hear them dragging on driveway curbs and then trim them. If you trim them now, you cannot go back to original length. I trimmed mine but we have a lot of hills here and the driveways are at an angle a lot of times. One side is much lower than the other side of the car, according to which way you are approaching the driveway. Sometimes I go around the block to approach from the upper side.

I haven't trimmed mine on either one of the cats. I live in Michigan with a fair amount of potholes. I find the biggest challenge to be speed bumps, so I avoid them at all costs.

To Trim or NOT to Trim!

Well...You can trim them and maybe save yourself a $1200 repair bill, OR, roll the dice and not trim them and maybe incur a $1200 repair bill.

Like Clint Eastwood says...Well...Do you feel lucky...Punk!

The appearance is identical. So to me it was a no brainer. I used a dremmell tool with a litle sanding wheel. It took about 10 minutes. But then again...I don't feel lucky!

My mudflaps are as low as they go and no problems for 2 years....No rock chips either. The front mudflaps save so much from hitting the side of the car.

Mikee, if your mudflaps look unever you can make an adjustment on the front fenders. As much as an 1/2 inch down or up.

Mikee, I installed my front flaps a month ago and left the flaps untrimmed. I have to go over four 15 mph speed humps and one 10 mph speed bump in my neighborhood, to get out to the main road. I go over them slow and have not had them scrape.

I've had mine installed on both my cats from the beginning and 12,500 and 13,600 miles later, I've not ever had a problem. You just need to be aware of your surroundings and be cautious.
