WE DID IT...

Awesome, is just one word to describe the response from the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge coordinators. We have to thank Karen Rosage (dkrosage@comcast.net) for contacting us and working so hard to make this event happen. With her help we were able to get up close and personal with a lot of lighthouses for some gorgeous picture opportunities.

As some of you know we started this event back in April. Never did I expect the turnout we had or the donations. Every vehicle had received an awesome 303 Product goodie bag. Stuffed 303 Product Protectant, dinosaurs and literature. Add Meguiar’s Quick Detailer, Mopar stickers and Mothers literature. And that is not all, we had members donate beautiful 2006 lighthouse calendars and day planners and dash plaques.

This event only had 1 ruffle for 2 different lighthouse throw blankets. Which did Maria & Frank Peri and Lucy & Bill Stephens win. Every car received an entry ticket and prizes were handled out to all that attended. We have to thank California Car Cover for donating 2 Wooden Handle Dusters, 2 small Dusters and 1 Water Blade. Mothers Products donated 6 bottle of Trigger Wash, Koni donated baseball caps, and then we had members donate such items a collector book, a collector car, litterbags, a lighthouse lamp and M & M candies.

Saturdays’ night dinner entertainment was the best time. A lot of us have never seen or heard of the Medieval Times before and enjoyed the show and dinner rooting on our knight (which lost).

All and all I hope everyone had a blast during our cruise of Maryland’s Lighthouses.

Anyone interested in a shirt, please contact me at 410-365-5264 Tammy

Jeff and Mom at Concord Point Lighthouse.

The Travelocity gnome came along for the ride. Not sure where he ended up.

19 people in this van to the Turkey Point Lighthouse!

Two new members arrived during the Challenge, Gary and Cindy from Baltimore and Robert and his wife from Washington, DC. Welcome!

Here it is. I still had it open on another computer. Copy and paste and then I will delete this one.

Below originaly posted by Sirreal:
This truly was Awesome! The Maryland Lighthouse Staff and Volunteers really opened some doors for us that rarely if ever are opened. Besides allowing our Prowlers to park on Lighthouse grounds, they provided ground transportation over some rough terrain that normally has to be walked. It allowed us to make the last lighthouse to finish the challenge. It was later learned that the last lighthouse was staying open and waiting for us. Now that is better treatment than Oprah gets! LOL

Now to the best part of this event. The people that come from far and wide to be a part of what is more like a family reunion than a car club. The Prowler is a fantastic work of art but the GREAT people that drive them are the true heartbeat. The fellowship, smiles and laughter will never be forgotten. It was a privilege to cruise with each and every one of you! Jeff

Special thanks to all that make the POA possible for Prowler Owners from all around the world to have one central location to meet!

A GREAT BIG THANKS! to all that were involved in the planning and execution of the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge. It was an awesome event in a truly beautiful state. The Lighthouse Society really rolled out the red carpet for the Prowlers including keeping the last house we were attending open since we were running late. Gary and Tammy and the whole East Coast Posse that put on the show did a SUPERB job. The goodie bags were loaded with neat stuff and the planning was excellent (by the way the Crab cakes at the Crab Claw in St. Michaels were AWESOME!)
One of the best events we've been to. To all the folks who participated...couldn't ask for a better, fun, friendly group of people, you helped make it a great success. We even picked up a Prowler Newbie, Robert and his wife who seemed pretty awed by the whole group (who wouldn't be with Dave Mills busting on him?) Seriously, a wonderful event run by some really great people. Really makes you proud to be a POA member.

Gary and Tammy - I know you guys are exhausted after showing us around Maryland's eastern shores and lighthouses, but I had a wonderful time. This was just about the most fun anyone could have with their pants on...

Maryland is a beautiful state and it was made even better by the great Prowler owners on the trip. Everyone had a great sense of humor and the special attention we received from the lighthouse staffs was remarkable.

Kudos to WildBill for the awesome dash plaques and to Mothers, McGuires, Koni, California Car Covers and the other POA contributors for the great gifts and prizes.

My only regret is that my wife, who loves lighthouses was not in the US to attend the challenge. But she's already looking forward to 2006 and beyond!

The Homeland Security Patrol (Of Prowlers), led by Gary and Tammy, was out cruising the highways of Maryland this past weekend looking to report any suspicious activities. Although we didn't find any terrorist, (they were all driving Prowlers) we did manage to find 9 lighthouses and 1 lightship with a lot of activity. Everywhere we went people were taking pictures of our fine machines to send to America's Most Wanted. Like we were from another planet?? Some even had the nerves to approach us and asked if they could sit in one for a photo. What they didn't know was that the photos would disappear as we left the parking lot because MeanGene or SirReal was bringing up the rear and zapped their recording devices with a strong GPS signal.

Thanks to everyone who put this Challenge together. Couldn't ask for better weather.

Thanks to everyone who worked on this event they did an excellent job. We had a great time meeting everyone, it is a very fun group. Wish we could have stayed till the end. Prowlers looked great at lighthouses and riding down the road. Look forward to meeting everyone again. Thanks for very friendly welcome. Gary & Cindy Keefe

Tammy, thanks for accepting the invitation from the Lighthouse Society and coordinating the lighthouse challenge for the Prowlers.
Gary and Jeff thanks for the scouting and guiding the cruising - really enjoyed the "alternate routes".
Thanks to all the prowler owners who came out. You guys are the best. Why else would a guy from the corn and soybean fields of Indiana drive halfway across the country to see a bunch of lighthouses. Can't wait for the next excuse to get together with a bunch of Prowler people.

Many thanks Gary and Tammy for hosting this deLIGHTful event. Tammy thought of every detail and Gary lead 19 Prowlers thru downtown traffic, over bridges and around difficult areas without losing a single kat! Pretty amazing leadership qualities from both of them! Richard and I arrived home safely late Monday night to a pile of work. The price we pay for playing around for 5 days! We were especially happy to meet "WILD HUH" our newest members Rob and his wife Diana, who are our "young'ins" both at only a tender age of 25! Here are some pictures of them and their Kat.
