Does anyone have a source for the little rubber bumper that prevents the gas cap door from the hitting the body with a metallic thud when it is closed and keeps the door out about a quarter of an inch so it lays flat with the surrounding body?
It causes my blood pressure to rise every time I fill up and notice it is missing. Would be willing to buy a pack and then redistribute to others who may also need one.

Thanks, will try my local dealer today. Maybe it is a generic DC part that they stock for a number of their vehicles.

As suggested, went to Ed Napleton Dodge here in Jupiter, FL and had to order one (1) "Stop/BMPR" part No.4815447 expected to be at the Dealership tommorrow. Thanks for all the quick suggestions and replys. If some reason it doesn't fit, will post a message. Don't ask what it cost...

Ace Hardware has universal bumpers, and you have to trim them a little. But they are only .50 cents. Steve

Cost for the stop bumpers are $2.40 to $3.75 each,,,,depending on what markup the parts department is working on.

It causes my blood pressure to rise every time I fill up and notice it is missing.

never noticed the thud or that the door wasn't flush with the car. I noticed that between 105 and 120 mph the gas door would open. not sure if this was related to the missing bumper.

fortsmith probalbly needs one of these as well unless he already replaced it on the old purple kat

I had a problem with loosing mine. It happens when you fill up. After replacing 2 of them I used some black silicone on the one that is in there now to help hold it in place and I'm very careful not to hit it with the handle of the pump

I believe you can get to the back side of the bumper and use some needle nose pliers to pull it thru.

Pull and wiggle (the nipple not you) a little and it will go

After my posting, I have come to the conclusion that owning and maintaining these cars gives one no respect from my fellow owners. PS Got no "RESPECT" on the Power Tour last year either.

Tom - you got your question answered,,,,,,how did you get "no respect" from the other members?

We do tend to drop off topic once the question has been answered,,,,but that is just us having some fun.
