you all know how ugly the brakes looks on the prowler i found this site, www.calipercover.net they dont seem proffesional (a huge amount of grammer mistakes) but i think it will make a huge diffrence look-wise on the car. did any1 try these covers? thanks |

yuk,why dont you remove your calipers, using a small grinder, smooth out rough surface and sand and paint w/basecoat clearcoat.did mine looks about 100% better and takes about 2 hrs to prep both for paint.alot of sanding and grinding but worth it. ------------------ |

I cleaned mine and painted them to match the car, just another option. Can't load the picture for some reason. |

I actually think these look pretty cool. But, my first thought would be that they are probably made to improve the appearance from the side profile only. In other words, if you look at the pictures Dave Mills posted of his beautiful yellow calipers, you can see all sides of the caliper. I kinda doubt this kit covers the backside as the Prowler is probably the only production car where you would need to cover the entire thing for the sake of appearance. I emailed him as I thought it would be interesting to find out if the covers are actually designed to completely wrap around the caliper. I'll report back when I get a response. One other thing, Turns out the poor grammar is because the seller is Tawainese and is shipping these direct from Tawain! This message has been edited by Feral on 06-25-2006 at 12:21 AM |

Well, that was quick. It's almost 11:00PM on Saturday night here in California. He responded to my email about ten minutes after I sent it! Must be Sunday morning over there. Unfortuantely, it was as I feared. Here is his response: Hi sir. The brake caliper cover design for cover 1 side(front side)can not cover from back side. They are not like real racing brake caliper. I have front set and rear set for your car. |

Hey Moe, No, No, I wasn't saying you shouldn't buy them. I'm just pointing out that the back of your calipers will look the same as they do on your car right now, unless you paint the backs to match the front "stick-on" part. Which may look great, I just can't envision it. If you do buy them, please post pictures of the finished product as I do like the look. For me personally, I'm just too skeptical to spend $100+ bucks on something no one here has ever seen in person from an overseas vendor. I'd be much more inclined to try them if the vendor was in the US and had a 100% money-back return policy. Scott |

Add it to the list of choices. The guy deserves credit for getting back to you quickly with what would seem to be an honest answer. |
