![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm getting ready to store the cat for the winter. I will be putting it in a garage that doesn't have electricity. I have a Car Jacket. Heres my questions: a) Since power isn't close, should I pull the battery so I can put it on a small charger? By removing the battery for 4 months, will it mess anything up? b) Should I jack up the car to take the load of the tires & suspension? Can I do this w/ the Car Jacket? C Fill up the fuel tank & put Stabil in? Thanks, Matt |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pulling the battery won't hurt anything. You could raise the car in the jacket, or at least put a piece of plastic on the concrete and pieces of carpet over the plastic and under the tires. My real suggestion is to move to a warmer climate, and enjoy driving it whenever you want, quit worrying about the small stuff, and add years to your life! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hey Matt, I just realized your from Palos. I grew up in LaGrange,Countryside, Palos. Went to L.T.H.S. Small world sometimes. Don't miss the unbearable winters or the scorching summers though, but love to visit once in a while. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Matt: c. Fill tank fully and add Sta-bil accordingly. Less air, less condensation. b. Raise car will "relaxe" suspension and can do it in the bag, just be careful whne positioning jack and stands ... used to do it all the time. a. what kind of garage doesn't have electricity?!? Pull the battery and put it on a Battery Tender where ever you store it ... will be ready to go come Spring. Good luck! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Air tyres up to Max pressure(on the sidewall), park on carpeting, take battery out the cold and store in house with battery tender... add sta=bil, fill tank drive to get through the whole system... tyres might be thumpy for a few miles but will be round again at some point....
if you do go for a ride make it a long one at least 30 minutes, your car will love you for it... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All I do is. Fill up the tank. Dump in some dry-gas. Start her up & run her once a week for 30 min. Works fine. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I put stabilizer in the full tank and use a battery tender, but I do not keep my battery tender on full time. I usually put it on once a month until the battery shows full charge again. Car is setting on 3/4 inch plywood over the concrete. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We inflate the tires to 40 lbs. for the winter storage. We store my cats in the Car Jacket bags on the cement floor (and the lift) and have never had a problem with the tires getting flat spots or anything. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have had good intentions for the past 7 winters but never seem to get around to doing much about it. The Winter is not that severe or long here, unless you are living through it. lol |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I use my cat as a multi-purpose vehicle drive it in the summer and put a snow plow on it to plow the driveway in the winter the only thing is that it was hard to find chain's for the rear tires. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you pull the battery you will kill the computer and it will have to reset itself when you put the battery back in and drive about 70 miles. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() quote: Eddie is correct. If you attempt to take your car in for an OBD emissions test after disconnecting the battery, it will fail. The PCM/ECU adaptive learning will take some miles to re-train. Not really a problem, but just a heads-up if you plan an emission test. |
