Yup.... backed the Cat outta the garage yesterday morning and then run back inside to grab something, come back out, the car was running, and under the rear of the car, almost from tire to tire, was a wet spot.... (okay..no jokes now, but dont know how else to accurately describe it) ... from tire to tire. I look under and the crossmember just ahead of the wheels had drops of moisture all the way across.
Run my finger across a drop and take a whiff... and yup... gas.
Had less than 1/2 tank, so wasnt any type of overfill problem, and prior to this, car was run about 14 hours before this, which was a short run of about 30 mins duration. Any else had anything like this?
As further info, there was NO sign of moisture, leakage, etc, IN the garage where it had been all night.....

Looking for... and sharing... information. Thanks.

PS what the Chrysler shop did was replace the gasket on the top of the fuel tank ....

Geno - MadMax had that similar situation. Dealer did the same fix you got, and that seemed to be the end of the problem.

The location sounds about right for this possibilty.
Is there any chance that what you saw and smelled was condensation from the drain holes in the tailpipes? The condensation would have a gas smell since it comes from the exhaust.

I don't think so, Larry... the condensation was all the way across the car and on the crossmember... the drain holes in my pipes are rearward of that.... and lower ...

and since the gasket replacement, no problem

Edit:
Dont know if 'crossmember' is the correct term here Larry, as I see it is .. hmmm.. how to describe. Here ya go.
Standing at the rear wheel, you look down and see that nice 4 inch aluminum frame ending just ahead of the wheel... right where that frame turns,... that is where the condensation was... is that the 'crossmember'??

I smell gasoline most of the time I back the Prowler out of the garage now - no liquid gasoline on the floor, but the smell is strong and getting stronger. It persists for a mile or so after I start driving. The smell is strongest behind the seats of the car in the "trunk" area. I already took it to the Chrysler dealer here for this issue, and they had no clue. How do I assess the gasket on the top of the fuel tank, as these gentlemen did so long ago? Other ideas?

Update: I waited until the vehicle showed a code, P____—, which indicated leaks in the vent lines from the gas tank. A mechanic at the Chrysler dealership will patch and splice those. No issues with the fuel pump gasket were discovered.
