I'm shipping a 1999 Prowler to Europe and need to somehow change the speedometer to kilometers from mph. Is there a way to do this? Where can I get what I need? Thanks.

the speedo is controlled by the tcm.i suggest contacting one of the european owners on this site and ask them.good luck.

I believe many Canadian owners have had to convert theirs over so try contacting them.

My Canadian Kat has both.. Larger size in KM, but still shows MPH in smaller numbers.

The odometer shows KM's...( 116,290 ) I thought I read somewhere that the dealers can change it to miles but not sure about that...

found out,if you take it to a dealer,they will reprogram it to read kilometers.

you would have to ask,or send extreme a pm.my usa speedo has mph in large letters and kph in small,i dont think they make the reverse,but might ask extreme he will know.

a change is not nessesary .
The Prowler speedo has miles, and on the inside in smaller letters, Kilometer in the display.

We got in Germany TÜV & registration for the prowler.
The Canadian Prowler Models have it the different way.
Big Kilometer sign in the speedo, small miles sign inside.

You can buy a can. speedo and get the backbox-set up changed to Km for the speedo.
( It cost some bucks, to me, its not worth.)

If a prowler has ( or got) registration in one EU country, it has to get in reg. in another EU state too.

The Mirror display is easy to change from mph to km.

Why are you worried (being the shipper) about changing the speedometer to Kilometers? Let the buyer in Europe deal with it,,,,,,,,the kilometers is shown on the speedomter, in smaller numbers, anyway. Or was this some part of the sale

Not part of the sale. Buyer requested it. Not sure if its required in EU to register. But ur right, i think I'll let him worry about it. I thought there might be an easy fix. Thanks everyone for you input.

The US - miles and Canadian -kilometer speedo displays are actually different. The odometer displays in miles for US and KM for Canadian units. There is NO programming involved. Needle position is the same on both units, just the numbers are changed. ( 75mph or 120km are the same - straight up)

mine is the reverse of the US cars... KM's on top and larger than the MPH.. mine actually has the MPH in Blue... I'll post a picture later...
