So, my 1999 Prowler was recently shipped to me here in Pensacola. Although sellers assure me this problem did not occur there, I cannot drive over about 300-400 feet without the OEM car warning alarm sounding (yes seatbelts are fastened). This alarm sounds same as door ajar or fasten seatbelt with no indication on dash. If I drive at less than 10 mph around neighborhood the alarm does not activate. As soon as I go over 10 mph, alarm goes off.
Does anybody know what is causing this? Anybody got idea how to fix this or get it to stop?

I'm wondering if it actually is the "low tire pressure" warning. The bulb has been removed but the pressure module is still installed. The sensor activates with rotation of wheels.

When you first turn on key and all dash lights come on as a test, does tire pressure warning light come on ?

Make sure the trunk is closed properly. A warning light saying deck should also light up on the dash when this happens but It’s worth checking.

No I have never had any low pressure warning light or trunk lid ajar come on, not even when initial turn key to on.

Is there an "easy" way to unplug or disable the "gonger"?

Lets start with a basic question ... do you have the Goodyear or other brand runflats on the car? If not .. then likely is the LTPWS system "looking" for the sensors if they were removed when the owner changed tires to tell it the air pressure is 'fine',

Take a photo of dash lights when you put the key to 'run' position ... those here can then tell you if you have a bulb gone, and along with answers to above, may be narrowing your root cause.

Thank you Stingray and others for tips on stuff to check concerning the TPWS and tires. The tires are Continental Extreme Contact DWS Tuned. 295/40 ZR20 rear and 225/45 ZR 17 front. After what you said about these tires and TPWS I checked tire pressures. All were about 20 which was way below sticker on post as well as on tires. They are now all to 35psi but I have not had chance to get car out to drive. Below is pic of dash with key just turned to run position.

Your tire pressures are wrong, look at the sticker inside the drivers door, I believe front should be 27 rear 32.
Your pressures will just make the Prowler ride rougher than it need too.

Where's the low tire pressure light? On an 02 it's located just to the right of the service engine light.

Well guys, I now feel pretty dumb as I inflated all 4 tires higher than car sticker (28/32) to make sure TPWS would read ok, if the TPWS worked at all, drove it around neighborhood, and no warning chimes! But I will say I never did see any dash light warning low pressure like other cars. So I want to thank everybody for their help in putting me on the right path here. Now maybe I can get it inspected, licensed, and actually enjoy cruising in it>

Yeah, you did it the right way ... going over recommended pressure slightly to see if you got a chime and you didn't ... can always bring them back down to recommended levels - best to fix one thing at a time.

Dash light does appear to be "out", but importantly, chime problem solved!

It may actually say what the threshold is in the owners manual for when the LTPWS will be set off ...
