From Gatlinburg, TN to Auburn, IN is 486 miles. Anyone who would be interested in making a stop on the way home or an extra side trip to participate in this event, please post on this thread. I am going to speak with Mr. Esterline today about hotel availability. As Marty said, we can leave after the farewell breakfast on Friday morning and drive to Auburn. We can spend the night there, participate in the parade and the day's activities on Saturday, spend another night (or for those who are close and don't need to can leave Sat. night) and head home on Sunday.

Please post your name and if you need a hotel for one or two nights or no hotel. After I speak with Mr. Esterline, I will provide further information about the parade and what they have in mind for us.

Again, it will be held on Saturday, August 30. He wants to have Chrysler's most innovative vehicles head this parade. He has contacted us (Prowlers) and the Viper club in the hopes of getting participation from both. He is trying to get about 50 vehicles, divided between the two groups. That means we can have up to 25 Prowlers participate (although he will be flexible with the number).

His dealership is located about 2 blocks from the site of the parade setup. The parade route is approximately 3 miles long. This parade is nationally known and this is a great opportunity for us. He usually tries to get celebrities to participate also. Past participants have included Carroll Shelby, Jay Leno, etc. Ed Hermann (who used to do the Chrysler commercials) is participating again this year and he is working on others. Line-up for the parade will start at 11:00 a.m. and the parade will commence at about 12:00 noon. This sounds like a lot of fun.

In addition, he has 12-15 local celebrities and dignitaries that he would like to place in the Prowlers and Vipers that will lead the parade. So, if there is anyone who would like to accommodate this, please let me know.

He will be checking into hotels for me and will send me some info to work with. I am waiting for Eagle1 to contact me so that I can have him help me out locally with this.

I know there are a lot of you who are heading home from the Gatlinburg event that perhaps would like to participate, but I also want to invite the local area people who won't be attending Gatlinburg to join us also. I think we can help Todd make this a success!!!

If you can make this event, please post here or email me. Please include if you will need a hotel room for Friday and Saturday nights and names/number of people. Also your cat color. I think this will be a lot of fun!!!
