Putting this out there to gauge interest. The military acadamey at West Point sure would be an interesting destination, if you have been there before or not. Real nice cruising from a bunch of directions, especially in the fall. Pretty convenient for our friends in NJ, CT, or NY. If you haven't been there, it is completely worth the trip. The place oozes history , just a cool place. The Thayer Inn, right on the property, has a nice brunch. Been there for that a few times, but not in a long while. Spectacular scenary. they might even be able to give us a private tour if we had enough people. We talked about this a little bit when we got together last year for the cruise that Dan put together. Early or mid October could be real nice. Any interest, thoughts or ideas?? ------------------ |

If I were nearby, I would be there in a heartbeat. To anyone who has never been there, definitely take the time to see it. Absolutely gorgeous area and the history and tradition of West Point are awe-inspiring. It will make you proud to be an American and renew your faith in the quality of our army officers.

Totally open on dates but I was thinking mid October...?? Trying for some nice foliage for the cruise. Does anyone have any idea when peak foliage is supposed to be this year? ------------------ |

I am checking on getting a private tour for our group for 10-20. A head count is important. They also have a nice brunch on campus at the Thayer Inn. I have done that a few times many years ago. There are other options in town and in the area to eat. One thought after the Academy, is to visit OCC, Orange County Choppers, which is not far and a nice cruise. Could be interesting. Anyone remember from the show, Paulie Jr. had a siliver Prowler. Any and all thoughts are welcome. ------------------ |

Or route 684 , which is a major highway, could be used as a meeting point for some. Ray has mentioned that the Taconic Parkway may be a more direct route for some ------------------ |
