Scott,

I purchased one on eBay recently. We got it here and Logan likes it, but it really is for smaller children.

Here is the eBay auction.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11746&item=5900802141

Here is the car now.

WARNING: These toys were recalled by the manufacturer as a fire hazard. This car has the charger, battery and motor. I am currently haggling with the seller over this car, but that is a whole other story.

Let me know if you are interested in this one. Not sure I want to keep it.

Thanks,
Guy

Gee thanks my PT Cruise is a fire hazard and now I find out the Baby cat is too, I wonder if it still under warranty, 5years old and about 300'...only driven by little 3 year old ...... LOL

The last one I bought I got for Steve Clark and it was sitting in a guy's front yard as lawn art, faded red and in need of work. You never know when you will run across one. I always look at garage sales with kids stuff to see if I can find another. Wish I had bought all they had when I seen them at the store. I sold my 1st one (Purple) to Jim Anderson In Erie , PA for his grandchild.

I have one .. daughter and neighbor kids all finally enjoying it now that she is 4 .. along with her "fleet" of other pink ride-on cars (thankfully the Prowler is yellow) ... but never heard of a recall on these ... just baught a new battery from the manufacturer too ... I believe someone is confusing the "issue" with PowerWheels, which this is NOT one of theirs ...

Chris,

Car said it was mint and came with a manual. It came with no manual, and did not fire up. I tinkered awhile before I found out the motor was not connected. I did some research and found the recall, so I have left the motor disconnected. Seller will not answer emails. Something tells me this car has not run for some time. I think I got a lemon (no pun intended). All the buttons work, radio, cell phone, and horn. I will keep working on it. I just get very mad when I get hosed. eBay will not help and PayPal does not get involved in mis-described items.

Guy. the buttons are powered by the 4 AA batteries. I think you have to disconnect the motor to charge the battery, It has been awhile. My guess is the battery or charger is not working. Since all these are at least 4 years old it is a good possibility that the battery is bad.

I really doubt mine would take or hold a charge now. It has been a few years since I tried to charge the battery. I don't have little kids and with the paint job they wouldn't be driving it anyway.

Steve Clark was able to get the one I found for him that had been sitting outside in this guys yard for 2 years to work.

I will look and see if I can find the book that came with mine. If I find it I can copy and mail to you.

Good Luck

I also have decided to not sell the car I have. I guess being out $135 is not as bad as it could have been.

It can be fixed. I'm thinking the motor is available for about $20, the battery & charger should be available at Radio Shack or someplace that sells batteries (Interstate Battery has a place here in Indy) and they rebuild batteries and have chargers for just about any rechargable device.

with a multimeter the switches can all be check, It can run again
