Looks nice but not worth that kind of money. It is a not an authentic collectible made by a manufacturer. That will be a deterrent to the true collector especially at $400. JMO. Also your description states it is a one of kind, then states it is #11 of 15. If there are 15 it can't be one of a kind. Doesn't one of a kind mean there is only one? Anyhow good luck with your sale hope it goes well, by the way you sold your bumpers way to cheap they should have been in the $400.00 range for the pair. I just sold a set a couple months ago for $425.00. You were very generous and I think someone took advantage of you. Again JMO. |

We both know as others do where this prowler comes from it is authentic and made by the manufacture that the other 15 were made. Wasn't this car donated by Mike Krehel at the Louisville event in 2006? Someone may know the answer to this maybe Marty Usher who organized the event. I remember Gary C had purchased this originally but we can't ask him. This is what we deal with here at POA. |

quote: Hey There Jesse ... welcome back to POA! Hope all is well with you, and that the New Year is off to a great start. Say, you are a smart guy, and truly are aware of those that "know nothing", and just run off at the mouth, from those that actually DO know a thing or two. I believe Steve was just trying to offer his opinion on his perception of this offer, and made a reasonable observation, from his own experience, on the sale of your bumpers too. Clearly, and you must agree, that a $400 purchase of a non-essential item like these HVBlue repainted Maisto's could be taken as an extravagance, especially given the state of our economy - not everyone has realized a tripling of their income in the last 12 months, have you? You are right about one thing, in applying the principles of supply and demand ... this IS one of just 15 unique items - just now have to see what the demand is. In any event ... don't get led down an old path by a bad seed ... it's not worth it, and there are too many really good people here that are wise to that situation. Best of luck to you on this sale, and anything else that you offer up as you clean house! Take care.

This is one of my more prized Prowler collectibles. I have #3 of 15. Mike K has #1. I believe Don Ward was who painted the diecasts and he has #2. When Mike won the HV Blue at auction he obtained lots of extra stuff that went with it. Including extra paint of the custom mixed color. I believe I was the one that gave Mike the idea to paint some 1/24 diecasts. I shipped a silver one that I had to him to be painted. and he had 14 others painted at the same time. These are painted with the the actual High Voltage Blue paint that is on the 1/1 car. And they are professionally painted and then Mike numbered them. I would never part with mine unless something happens that is beyond my control and dictates otherwise. One was auctioned at the Prowler Stampede event and I believe it sold for in excess of $200. I took mine a step further adding details to make it look more like the real deal. As with anything it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Good luck with your sale. I specifically requested that Mike Sign and number mine on the trunk. I am not sure where the others are numbered besides on the box. Here are pictures of my #3 of 15

I'm a little confused. The first pics seem to have the ribbed wheels that were on the prowler prototype and they appear to be silver painted aluminum. The second pic seems to have chrome wheels. Since this is not a diecast of the prototype, why does it have ribbed wheels? Does the actual HVB prowler have ribbed wheels? I can see how nitro would have put a lower value on this item ( even though he should have kept his mouth shut) but perhaps he didn't know the details of the actual HVB paint etc. posted by beware. With this new info, I would put the collector value right up there. |

Wow. Never even noticed the ribbed wheels. That's what I get for being so anal about the toys I collect. This thing went in a little wooden and glass display case the second I got home but since I don't want sunlight hitting my stuff it also went right in my collectible closet. On the car I have, the wheels are ribbed and painted silver, not chrome. This message has been edited by RED5 on 01-19-2012 at 09:54 AM |

The painted seats & ddor panels, painted side markers, chrome wheels , fender guards, painted back up lamps and front turn signals, painted silver front suspesion, painted silver behind the headlights, and lastly chrome exhuast were all modifications done by me after I got the car back painted in HV Blue. These models came from Maisto with the ribbed wheels. I believe that most if not all pre-built models came with silver wheels only. You could also buy unassembled kits that had both painted and chrome wheels included. That is where I got my chrome wheels from. The ribbed wheels were the style that Chrysler had on the concept car. Somehow Maisto got the concept wheels on the models of production car. Obviously this is an error, but that is the only wheels Maisto made either in silver or chrome. quote: Being proud of that is a very interesting statement, PMs from others tell me you were banned from this site for quite a while. Sounds like from what they say you were the king of the bashers. I know exactly what I am talking about, my brother had one of these in HVB. He bought it several years ago and we had many discussions about it. He was convinced it was a true collectible, I wasn't. Again JMO. I don't say anything on the computer that I will not say to someone's face. Using the keyboard has nothing to do with any statement I make. A couple years ago I made a Prowler Lionel train. I put one of each color Prowler on a car. Some colors were available some were not. The ones that weren't available I had a friend of mine Jerry Sievers from Paint-N-Place mix the exact Prowler colors I needed to paint the cars. The only color I didn't get was HVB. When Mike K found out I was making the train he was kind enough to contact me and offer me a bottle of HVB paint to paint the last car. I received it in a couple days and painted the car and placed it on the flat car. It may be the only one like it in existence. Do I consider it a true authentic collectible, absolutely not. It may be one of a kind but that doesn't make it an authentic collectible, it is a made up item and always will be just that. The seller stated his item was a one of a kind then stated there were 15, that is not a one of a kind, it is in fact 1 of 15. I was not bashing anyone I simply made a statement concerning the item. I don't care what the asking price or selling price is on the item. I hope he gets what he wants and I hope someone gets a nice collectible. My brother offered me his for $250.00 and I passed, it just wasn't something I felt was worth that kind of money. H e did sell it for $200.00 I believe, which was still more than I would have paid. I guess it is just a matter of how you feel about a certain item. I have about 4,200 pieces in my Prowler collection most are authentic, some aren't but they were items I wanted so I bought them. Cheap is something I have never been called, I pay what I need to pay to buy an item, when I want something price is only considered if I feel it isn't worth it to me, not to say it wouldn't be worth that to someone else. Just before Christmas I bought all 4 Ponds for $2800.00 that may have been a bit high but the seller would not break up the set and I needed the Chrysler Financial Pond to complete my set. I have the others and may sell them or maybe not. I sold one of the small ponds to Chris (cnote) a while back again I got it with a collection I bought. The front bumpers are worth more than $50.00 each and everyone here knows that. If the seller is happy with what Buddy paid him for them that's fine but the bottom line is they are worth more. I sold the set I had to a guy on this site, he lives in PA. He had a damaged bumper and needed one he bought them and a couple weeks later his other bumper was damaged and he was able to use the one he didn't need. A while back I cleaned house of Prowler items and listed about $11,800.00 worth of items, Buddy did make me an offer of $2800.00 which I promptly refused. I sold the items, most local, the first thing to go was my hardtop, it sold for $3000.00 so I was already ahead of the game. I don't care what anyone sells here or doesn't sell here, I simply made a statement about someone selling cars for $25.00 plus shipping when they are on e-bay for $7.00. Anyone that pays 3 times the amount something is worth is a moron. Who here would pay $90,000.00 for a Prowler just because someone has one for sale and is selling it on this site. No one and you know it, again not unless they are a moron! I didn't bash anyone or anything they are selling I simply voiced my opinion as to what I thought about the items or items being sold. This economy is and will continue to dictate what any collectible is worth. |

I would be interested to know how many HVB Maisto 1:24 Prowlers there are that are marked #11 of 15. If there are more than one of them then this one is definitely not a one of a kind, but if there is only one... |
