I must apologize to the Prowler Commuity. It was not fair of me to end my auction by accepting an outside offer. To the person who had the highest bid at the time I ended it, you are currently the highest bidder. I have relisted the items. I will not accept any out side offers. I just want to fix my mistake. It was not fair to anyone.

This sale is for both cars in the picture. You are bidding for two pond cars.

I tried to PM you Phil. I'm not sure if it went through.

On one side of the large pond car it says "Prowler Special Limited Edition". On the other side it says "Chrysler-Chrysler Financial Revolving Credit Facilities 1996".

Both of these are relatively rare. There were three full size pond cars, one for the dealers, one for Pebble Beach and the Chrysler Financial one. A collector should jump on this one.

Well a collector has expressed interest. The question now is should I accept his offer?

As we know now I should not have even entertained any outside offers.

ViperLLS,

I am surprised you closed your ebay auction.

Things like that just really upset me.

I was planning on going after your items on ebay.

If your ad indicated you were taking "OUTSIDE" offers, I would have contacted you sooner.

Just so you know where the values are.

Your larger pond should bring in $ 1,500 to 1,700 due the fact this is the hardest one to find.

The smaller pond shold bring in $ 1,000 to $ 1,350

Hope you got these numbers.

I talked it over with my wife. And even though we need the money to get us through the 8 week lay off I am on we both agreed what I did wasn't fair to the Prowler Community as a whole.
We came to this decision a few hours ago. And yes adacus, those numbers are impressive. But not worth having a bad reputation.

So not only have I pissed everyone off but I have been informed by one of those people that they have reported me to e-bay. I deserve it.

There is nothing I can do to change what has been done. I can only try to make it right. Or at least better than it is now.

don't worry about it man. I've had people make deals with me and back out without blinking an eye.

I don't see anything wrong with what you did. It's your stuff. You closed the auction before anyone bid.

I agree with Sabyby and beachcat. Reporting you to ebay? Give me a break. There's a helluva lot worse things that go on in Ebay. I think it was pretty low to do that! JMO Don't be so hard on yourself.

To the following parties:

Meancat, Silverkat, Beachcat, and Sabyby

As anyone on the board will tell you, I do not bad mouth anyone.

I once purchased an item on ebay and waited nearly 18 months for it to arrive. I LEFT THE GUY ALONE. No ebay report, no filing for refund. I just figured he was going through a hard time.

Many on this board will verify and contest to this. The man I purchased the item from nearly lost his son. His son was in coma with sever brain damage after falling out the back of a pick up truck going down the freeway. Talk about a hard time.

I put together a card drive where many members on this site went out to buy this man a card with thoughts and prays for him and his son. He was deeply touched by the members on this site and by me for my patience, understanding, thoughts, and compassion.

Back to this item, the reason I made the post is this.

The "financial pond" is the hardest one to find. I have been looking for 6 years for this item. When one does come up (and this is the first time I have ever seen one come up), it should play out on the auction it is listed on. This is a sought out item by myself and 2 to 3 other SERIOIUS collectors that I know of.

Will this set sell HIGH, you bet!!!!

Are the numbers I posted realistic, ask anyone who collects this line of items and they will all tell you I am right on the mark.

ViperLLS as far as having a "bad reputation", I can promise you this, you WILL NOT have a bad reputation for the selling price these items go for. You have in your hands the two most sought after ponds in the collection. Heck, I would even go so far as saying in the whole Prowler Memorabilia Collection. You should have no guilty feelings for what they sell for. That is the whole purpose for the auction.

Please believe me when I tell you that I was in no way trying to pull you out on the carpet. If I projected this, I sincerely apologize to you and your wife. I was, however, making you aware what the market value is on these two items. Yes, the market value is currently down for Prowler collectables as a whole. But with these two items being paired together, I can tell you that there is a lot of buzz you’re not hearing going on in the back ground.

As a business owner, I will say I am sorry to hear about your current employment situation. I can tell you from a small business owner’s perspective, the hardest thing “we” have to face is the possibility of downsizing, layoffs, and terminations. I will quote my grandfather “son, when I had to fire a subordinate, I was not firing the man, I was firing the family. That is what hurts me the most” My grandfather was a very sincere man in working to develop men in his field. When he reached a point where he had to let a man go, you can bet, he did everything in his experience and patience to develop the man being let go.

ViperLLS, I cannot tell you if you will get the numbers I projected on these two items because the market is down, pensions are depressed, market return is dismal, and jobs are hard to keep. Disposable income is not a luxary for a lot of people at this time. I can tell you this, by running the auction, you will get a nice run on the auction. It will go down to the final seconds when you see the push. Be patient with it.

In closing, when you say “doing the right thing, I am taking the position that your sincere on that statement and not simply relisting the item because of the numbers I indicated.

Finally,

To the party who was promised the items before I chimed in. Please see the benefit of this auction going to close. It is helping out a struggling family. Not many people I know can survive an eight week layoff. As we all know, the north region of our country is struggling by far the hardest. Want proof, price real-estate in that region. If you want a winter home, the time to buy there is NOW.

To ViperLLS, his wife, and his family, good luck with your sale. Remember this, you may not feel this but a lot of people in this country pray for our brothers / sisters in the north. God Bless you and your family.

To be honest, I closed the auction after two people had bid. That's why I feel I acted to rashly.

Ah OK. Now your guilty feeling has clarity. Still, your remorse is admirable and it sounds like you are working it out. Good luck and I don't think anyone will hold it against you. Certainly I don't think ebay would care.

____RANSOM 1945 I don't think it's appropriate to send me a PM over this making fun of my name and inferring that I'm a drug addict. If you were to meet me in person I guarantee you would not say that to me. You also should learn how to spell. What in the world would make you send me a message like this in the middle of the night? You don't even know me. Don't do it again. Dave Sullivan
