LndRckt | Need some technical advice....is there any way to adjust the trunk lid without taking the kat to a dealer? It seems like mine is very hard to close, sometimes I have to really slam it down to get it to close. I know there isn't anything in the trunk preventing it from closing, just seems like it doesn't latch very good. I always close it by pushing down on the top of the brake light, not from one side. Any help is appreciated. ------------------ Stoney 2000 Flaming Black Kat Stuart, FL ![](http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/blackprowl.gif) |
WPG | I adjusted mine by adjusting each of the silver dowels that come down from the trunklid and go into the holes in the black plastic retainers on the rear fenders. I also adjusted the black stops on both sides. I don't remember exactly what I did in my particular situation, but do remember making the adjustments, shutting the trunklid, and then opening it back up and readjusting a couple of times until I got it just right. My trunklid was also misaligned from the factory, so I went ahead and realigned it in the process. ------------------ Bill Gallagher 1999 Red www.magictouchdesigns.com • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.1 With EGR Bypass Kit • MTD Exhaust With Custom Flowmatched H-Pipe • MTD Frame Braces • Prowler Pro Gears • Catalytic Converters Wrapped In Heat Shield Cloth • $9 Chrome Grill + Painted Gloss Black • Gloss Black Painted Bumpers With Lettering Painted Red On Rear • Custom Built Speaker Box In Trunk With 15" Woofer And 200 Watt Amp • Stock Speakers Replaced with MBQuart In Dash, Rear , And Doors , Stock Sub Disabled • Polished Frame • Custom Seat Covers • Custom Painted Hood Badge • Black Rear Fender Protectors Removed • Tachometer Refinements ( Reroute Wires , Covered Bare Aluminum Post )Future Mods: • Goodyear Non-Runflat Tires • Custom Hood With Scoop |
butchcee | the rear hinges adjust in height and the latch adjusts up and down also. Make sure the guide pins are lined up and the stops are the right height. I had to adjust my trunk lid down to close up the side seam. ------------------

ALLEY CAT | My trunk closes very easy, lines up all the way around outside, but I can see daylight out each side from the inside of car looking back over the headrest area. Hate to adjust it and ruin the outside lines that line up perfect. Kind of like having flow thru ventilation system, and since I smoke, that air must be traveling out if the vent is open for outside air. |
catterumpus | It's not hard to do yourself, and it's mostly trial and error. The lid is adjustable in every direction and all you need is patience and to keep trying. Keep in mind the position of the struts that hold the lid open and make sure you don't have something sitting under the lower mounting point--if you do it will keep the strut from swiveling all the way down and tend to hold up the lid. ------------------ Donny & Donna Burnap basic black cat 2000 no bumpers and tgf metalcrafter front & rear borla with stock tips and no baffles ceramic front brakes Donny's one-off zit covers and rear bumperettes |
butchcee | Larry, the weather stripping sits on a channel. Just slip it up a bit and close the trunk to set back down to seal. ------------------
