LndRcktNeed some technical advice....is there any way to adjust the trunk lid without taking the kat to a dealer? It seems like mine is very hard to close, sometimes I have to really slam it down to get it to close. I know there isn't anything in the trunk preventing it from closing, just seems like it doesn't latch very good. I always close it by pushing down on the top of the brake light, not from one side. Any help is appreciated.

WPGI adjusted mine by adjusting each of the silver dowels that come down from the trunklid and go into the holes in the black plastic retainers on the rear fenders. I also adjusted the black stops on both sides. I don't remember exactly what I did in my particular situation, but do remember making the adjustments, shutting the trunklid, and then opening it back up and readjusting a couple of times until I got it just right. My trunklid was also misaligned from the factory, so I went ahead and realigned it in the process.

butchcee the rear hinges adjust in height and the latch adjusts up and down also. Make sure the guide pins are lined up and the stops are the right height. I had to adjust my trunk lid down to close up the side seam.

ALLEY CATMy trunk closes very easy, lines up all the way around outside, but I can see daylight out each side from the inside of car looking back over the headrest area. Hate to adjust it and ruin the outside lines that line up perfect. Kind of like having flow thru ventilation system, and since I smoke, that air must be traveling out if the vent is open for outside air.
catterumpusIt's not hard to do yourself, and it's mostly trial and error. The lid is adjustable in every direction and all you need is patience and to keep trying. Keep in mind the position of the struts that hold the lid open and make sure you don't have something sitting under the lower mounting point--if you do it will keep the strut from swiveling all the way down and tend to hold up the lid.

butchceeLarry, the weather stripping sits on a channel. Just slip it up a bit and close the trunk to set back down to seal.
