mslc10For those with the Aldans in front, did you install them "upside down" i.e. Put the adjusting knob down in the shock box? Did you adjust the spring collars before you put them in ?
KlondikeKatYes correct I did , adjusting collar on shock at bottom, when I did mine , only way to adjust ride height is to take them out again, I think

Correction ,mine are installed springs on top , adjusting knobs on top , however the collar to adjust ride height is at bottom in shock box at bottom of the car , cannot adjust those collars once installed , unless maybe with a tool made up, its possible

Richnew41I would not recommend placing the shocks upside down. The shocks fit fine as created with the ride adjustment at the top when your in the mood to try a different setting.
mslc10So what I have done is installed them upside done to get the ride height correct ( 6 " +\_ .25 from ground to shock box ) then I will pull them out and flip so adjusting knob is up top.
robinYou got it ....nice job....set the knob for bounce back before you reinstall as that knob is hard to reach after installation...
robin
robinSo what Mark has done for future reference...
Correct way when finished.

He has purchase these Aldan shocks coils....made for front of Prowler..

Installed them upside down. In the car..

Then adjusted to the proper ride height 6" with the adjustment tool supplied .

then uninstall and reinstall the right way ...

robinSome people may have purchase this model which has two adjustment knobs .one for spring stiffness and the other for bounce back.

The bounce back knob will be hard to set when installed in the car. I set mine to the half way point before installing them .....1-10 setting.

mslc10Thank you robin for posting! Yes this will be the third time at installing these ! All without a lift!

Note: it is a whole lot easier to pull the shock up if you unbolt the one and also loosen the other one! Lol!

My adjustment is around 8 exposed threads:

mslc10Once I finalized the height ring I then applied some red thread locker and then tightened the binding nut .
