Going to the Smoky's running @ 65 mph, no A/C running, top up & drivers window partially open we traveled 200 miles on 8.5 gallons of gas. 23.52 MPG Coming back running @ 75 MPH with the A/C on top up, we traveled 190 miles on 8.5 gallons. 22.35 MPG I am very happy with my fuel mileage. I traveled down and back mostly at posted speeds 65-70 and am very happy with my mpg especially since the car has Pro Gears in it. This message has been edited by BeWare on 10-12-2009 at 04:48 PM I found mine gets the best mileage when I get up to speed to lock in 4th instead of leaving in drive. Wish I could have been there, even if I only got 20 mpg.............LOL ------------------ WallyBeWare Pulling a fully loaded Prowler trailer and our Kat has gears. alrtg I got 21.4 MPG average from the time I left home in Maryland until the time I got back home. (est 1400 miles total) No trailer, no weekender, just me and luggage.
500 miles each down and back plus a couple of tanks of gas while there. AC was on sometimes, others the defroster was in use (which runs the AC too)garysss I got 24.8 for entire trip, 1700 miles total 525 each way and 650 playing around while there. Top up on trip down and back, air on return trip only, no gears, avg 70-75 both ways. On a recent day trip in MD. on mostly back roads, level ground, speed around 50, about 350 miles. My avg. was 26.9. BradleyG I used less than a tank of fuel and I live 1000 miles away. We all three have gears.. Do you suppose that is why we didn't burn very much fuel?? I was able to enjoy the event thanks to the many pictures you have posted. I haven't missed many events in the last few years, but didn't have a choice this time. THANK YOU for helping me enjoy your good times with your picture postings and phone calls.
Remember the Denver event last year?? Fuel was over $4.00 a gallon. BeWare I don't trust the fuel gauge so I stopped just above a 1/4 tank each way. Could have made the entire trip on 1 tank of gas easy. Brad we really missed you my friend. ed monahan I had done too much math the previous month and didn't check my fuel usage. Whatever I used, I enjoyed every darn mile of it. Thanks again to all that made it so much fun. WildCat quote:

Larry & Sue Mayesdroptop I reset the thing-a-jig on the mirror when we left. 23.9 was the average when we got home. It would have been a little better if it hadn't been for those 11 miles they call the "Tail of the Dragon." wallygator310 I got 21.8 for the entire trip of 1880 miles and 46 hours of driving. What a trip! ed monahan Wally it was good seeing you again. I don't think we had seen you since the Daytona Turkey Run about 4 years ago.
By the way, it was "For Wally" not "formally" on the poster/easel. Thanks for keeping me on my toes all week. lol
