1MOR TOY | When Yellercat was down installing my SSS Muffler, we put my cat on a lift, made sure we had a level surface, trimmed the right flap back to the curve(about an inch) then measured the distance to floor and trimmed the left to match. BeWare | I have never adjusted mine but I understand they can be adjusted and I am pretty sure you don't have to take the wheels off to do it. |

Ken Carter | In a personal email, I have ask Todd Cameron to post the procedure he used to adjust his flaps. I have 2 Prowlers and they both are out of adjustment a couple of inches. It sound like this could solve the problem for everyone. Hopefully the wheels don't need to come off, taking a chance of breaking the center caps. Ken |
Ken Carter | Todd responded to my email with the simplest solution, he had his taken care of under warranty. Thanks Todd. I just thought if it were an easy 5 minute job, I would do it myself to save the hassle of taking them to the dealer and waiting for who knows how long. Has anyone adjusted their own? Ken |

If I remember correctly, it was not difficult to adjust the fenders. I think all I did was loosen the bolts that hold the black arms from the fender to the brake knuckle. I believe my wheels were on when I adjusted the fenders, but I am not 100% sure. I adjusted mine when I had my front calipers off and am not exactly sure if the wheels were back on or off when I adjusted the fenders. YELLER CAT | Ken... I have had my front fenders off many times and have never noticed any adjustment slots, shims or anything but the round mounting holes. They always just bolt back on in the same place. Are you sure you just don't need to trim the "mud flaps" the recommended 1"? Also, being you have 3 Cats in your garage, maybe a measurement from the bottom of the fenders to the floor for each of the 6 fenders will give you an idea if just one or more of the Cat's fenders are too low. I haven't looked at my car yet, but this is pretty much how I adjusted mine. My passenger-side flap would always scrape and I damaged my original flap pulling into a driveway once. I adjusted the fender and moved it more forward and now it rarely scrapes anymore. For note, both sides are untrimmed. This message has been edited by William Gallagher on 07-15-2002 at 10:48 PM |
Ken Carter | Jay... I have measured all three Kats and they are all different. That's why I figured there must be a way to adjust them. Bill...I will give it a try and if does not work, I will take the Todd approach and let the dealer do it.Thanks for all the help. Ken |
