weswman | Hopefully someone can help me out. My car has sat for a while without starting and without gas in it. We just tried starting it, put in almost 1/4 tank gas. Cranks but won't turn over. My interior is being redone so the interior is totally out. Never had this problem before. We did take off the steering wheel. Could this be the problem? It started just fine before we took the steering wheel off. It doesn't feel like the fuel pump is running? It's not humming when the car is cranking. Where is the fuel pump relay? Is there a soundary set of fuses in the engine bay? If so, where? I only know of the fuses on the left side of the dash. Let me know if anyone has any ideas. Thanks. catfish | when you turn the key to on,not start, you should hear the pump run.steering wheel has nothing to do with it,unless you unplugged some wires.the fuel pump will only run,w/key on till it pressureizes the system.the relay center,w/relays and fuses are behind the lt side pnl, remove 3 bolts.ck fuses for asd also-automatic shut down and relay.ck fuses on lt dash panel first.to ck.relays, switch with another relay.any other wire unplugged since you have the interior out, does that also inc.the dash. ------------------

Cal Kid | My ex wouldn't turn over either, so I got rid of her. Divorces are expensive because they are worth it!!!!!!! |
weswman | The dash is out, but I have the gages pluged in. The steering wheel is off, and unpluged. I thought that wiring for the steering wheel was only for the airbag and stereo controls. No humming or noise whatsoever from the fuel pump. Is there a reset switch? I checked all the fuses on the left side of the dash, they're all good. Anymore ideas? catfish | cal kid, youre right about that my ex wouldnt turn over either,as stated ck,fuses and relays behind side panel.since the problem started, when you removed interior,id start there,if no blown fuses or relays.sounds like you unplugged some thing related to the starting system.because the gauges are plugged in doesnt mean alot.there are alot of related circuits.its hard to say ,not standing next to your car, since we have no idea, whats plugged in and whats not.since it started after interior removal, back track all wires.no reset switch.------------------

idive | As Jan said, there are fuses and relays in the PDC (power distribution center) behind the left side panel. Thats where your fuel pump relay is.
Its a relay, not a fuse, so (the easy way) you would have to replace it with one you know works to see if thats your issue. There are also fuses behind your glove box. |
weswman | Fuel pump relay is fine. Don't know what to do. Just cranks and won't turn over. |
catfish | how do you crank it and not turn it over.isnt cranking turning it over. ------------------

weswman | Found out it's the fuel pump. It's dead. Any way I can get it replaced for cheap. Can I use a module from a Neon? Can I buy that module from a Pepboys or similar? |
catfish | do a search under fuel pump, theres quite a lot there, inc. the neon pump. ------------------
