marks2000woodward | Hi, The problem I'm having is not with my prowler but with my 1974 vette somtimes you turn the key to start the car there is no response it's totally dead. Then after you try it a few times it will eventually start with no problem. I thought it might be the starter, or alternator, or even maybe the flywheel. I had the battery checked and it is a ok. Any suggestions to remedy my problem will be greatly appreciated!!!!!

ALLEY CAT | neutral switch? stick or automatic? |
marks2000woodward | It's a 350 automatic
|
ALLEY CAT | Mark - try this,,,,turn key forward to unlock steering column,,,,put the automatic in neutral, then start the car and see what happens. Try several times and see if that works? |
butchcee | maybe a bad ground or dead spot or burn through in the starter commutator. |
1buddyc | Check your Battery Cables, especially the + one at the Starter Solenoid. Even if connections look good at the battery, clean connections and reinstall. (be sure the + cable is disconnected @ the battery before checking the starter connection....) |
stevedymo | Also check the little wires connected to the Solenoid. sometimes these build up corrosion under the plastic clip housing causing havoc like the battery or starter is dead. If the little connectors are corroded, cut off and splice in new connector and use some waterproof grease.------------------ Steve D. ---------------------- ![](http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/smilies/silverprowl.gif)
