cjchelenWent on my first trip in Prowler. Not far, from Florence to Savannah About 180 miles. While the Kat does well in the rain, no leaks etc. I now understand why many are reluctant to drive in the rain. At least in areas like the south with poor road drainage. with all the puddles on the road some several inches deep, at night, hard to see lane markers, it was an interesting experience. With the design of the front end the water sprays up between the wheel and the body covering the windshield. what fun, especially in a place you are unfamiliar. But overall it was a blast. Pulled into town and stopped at a red light and this young guy in one of those styled-out Hondas pulls up next to me. Next thing I know he rolls down his window, hangs out with his phone and is taking pictures. Also pulled up to the hotel and drew a small crowd, the valets got excited, and got to meet prowlinalaska who was in the hotel bar and came out to say hello. Just can't go anywhere in the Kat without drawing attention.
moorevisualNo leaks??? Wow!! You are very lucky, my friend
OrangeCar just went through it's first rainy couple of days. Sitting outside, no leaks, driving at 50MPH+.... drips from center of top of windows....

Any suggestions?

Do not drive the cat in the rain, Problem solved.

thedqman Orange,
There is a way to tighten the seals against the glass. (A thumbwheel I believe)
There is also a way to adjust horizontally.
If you have a manual it will tell you how.
If not maybe some one more knowledgeable than I on this procedure can help?
Mike
catfishforget the thumbwheel,it wont stop the drips.unlock top and partially fold up,far enough to expose ends of seals.apply chap stick to exposed parts of seals, where they seal against each other.that will stop the drips.

c.mangengYou can use Jan's idea, which will work or you can purchase a product from an autoparts store that is designed for convertible top joints. It's like a thick Vaseline, works very well.
OrangeThank all of you, will give it a try.
TooHipCat Don't forget the 303 Fabric Protector spray. I have coated my top a few times this year and it sure did help when I got caught in the inevitable rain storm. I don't think anyone of us ever plan on going out in the rain!
Have a good weekend everyone!

KrautI'm with Jan. Chap stick is the answer. It totally prevents leaks on mine, so I always keep one in the car.
ETMIDZTI'll try the Chapstick thing also.......Great info.!
ALLEY CATRain-X the seals and apply some also on the top 1/2" of the side window glass on the inside.
larrypenIf we can live thru the 2 hrs of rain AC,idive and I went thru in TX.. These cats can almost swim... No kidding

Black Tie 161My windows no longer leak even in the heaviest rain.

I think the final trick was applying 303 aerospace protectant on the rubber seals, and using the 303 canvas protectant to drench the sewn seams of the top that hangs over the window.

The result is water beading off the extra-treated top seams, and any 303 aerospace on the rubber seals "grips" the top of the window preventing seepage. The combination works well...303 is great stuff.

GRROWL100% silicone brake grease on the seals. A lot easier to find than some of the more obscure recommendations (except for the Chap Stick, of course).
