1st Prowler I ever sat in was this one

Tom lived in Greenfield & bought it from Eastgate Chrysler Plymouth

He didn’t join in with the group & the low miles shows he didn’t drive them much

Believe he bought the candy also from Eastgate. I knew he bought it but never seen it.

He also had go carts & a lot of collectables

If anyone would be interested they are only about 8 miles away.

I will probably go over & look at them & see if they will tell me anything about owner. Have been to his house but been a very long time.

I googled him, he passed away a few months ago

Dave,
I'll give them $25,000.00 for the car if you will give them $15,515.00 for the trailer.

Ed,
The guy that bought my Dad's Black Tie a few years back eventually Sold the car but kept the Trailer.
Last I heard, his Son was using it with his Street Rod.
I seem to recall that only 15 or so Black Tie Trailers were produced.

WildCatI’ve heard an offer has been made on the Candy & accepted.

So only the Purple 97 & trailer is available as of this afternoon .

Stray CatI went over to Indianna this AM had no right to. With all that has been going on, Just thought why not, have always LOVED the Candy Prowlers. NEVER truly wanted to own more than one really. But a Candy with 1500 miles and a Trailer for decent price caught my attention. When I sent the pictures to Shelley and said "what do you think?" and she responded "its beautiful". I made an offer and bought it.

I'm going to keep this one 100% stock. The Black one will be my "make it yours" Prowler. I have one more car to buy I think, quite possibly tomorrow, and then 4 to 5 to sell. There is a method to my madness that I will explain in another Post. But this car was simply beautiful. Not a mark on it. New Tires, fluids etc. With Extra parts in the Trailer etc. I was able to negotiate a very very decent price.

Feel so very lucky/blessed. What a dream come true....

Stray CatHere are a few better pictures of the 1997. I really should buy it as well. 5600 miles, trailer etc. I did not look in the trailer but if like the candy, it's got extra parts in there. It is beautiful, paint pops and no chin scuffing etc. Original Owner paid $75,000 I believe for this car, not sure if that included the trailer, But if you are interested, I would bet that low to mid 30's would buy it, It's beautiful and it does not get any more original than a Purple with satin wheels. Still one of the best looks IMHO

I'll be going over within the next week to get the Candy. If you want me to inspect it, let me know. Ball joint repair was done on the 2002 so I would be any recalls are done on this car as well. New tires, (Car and Trailer) and oil change etc. PM me if you would like me to look it over. Again, I should have bought them both. Straight and beautiful.

John

MocarWelcome to the candy club!
BeWareJohn
Congratulations on the Candy.
ed monahanI guess investing in cars doesn't pay off too well if he paid $ 75,000 for it. It does look great but he really didn't get to enjoy it. What a shame, really. I would buy it if I had more garages but I am not going to live long enough for that type of investment to pay off.
Lots of very low mileage Prowlers selling for low or reasonable rates right now.
PROWL13WOW John that candy looks great can you please post more pics of it when you get some time I would love to see more, congrats great choice!!

The 97 was well know selling price because the did a bid for it as I believe 1st one in Indy & everything I heard was $75,000 for car & trailer

The Candy by the time Tom bought it they were discounting them, but heard he paid $65,000 for car & trailer. Knew a mechanic at the dealer that did my ball joint recall. Don’t remember if Tom told me or Dale.

I never seen Tom in the Candy. I do believe he excepted the value to increase. Sorry he passed before that happened & his family sold his stuff.

John bought about as new a 2002 Candy as there is out there

Stray CatThanks all and Thanks for the welcome to the "Candy Club" ! I would tend to agree with Ed, cars can be a very lousy investment. I have made really good money on a few cars, and lost money on others. I have tremendously enjoyed all of them and that is what you are all talking about that is so important. Some people enjoy the "artwork" of the vehicle (Maybe the guy who owned this was like that) and just like to look at them. Some of us LOVE to drive them. I can do and appreciate both. And to have two, one to baby 1000% and one to baby BUT drive it? Pretty cool.

WRT the Prowler, and the Viper, the GMMG cars I own, I expect them all to go up. Why, you might ask? (notice I did not say SSR) Lots of reasons - I should probably use another thread to explain, but all of them are now on their "second" leg of ownership. The first owners who bought them hoping to make a buck, are getting older and letting them go. Or in the Candy's case, dying. Some are breaking even, even making a buck (GMMG Trans Am's) and some are losing (Some of the Prowlers). They will probably take a dip or two in the next 10 to 20 years, but hang on long enough and I think values will continue their trajectory up.

I would have to agree with Larry, I would never have purchased that car if it wasn't in such great shape and I got it at an incredibly fair price. I plan on putting it back to 100% close to off the showroom floor condition. Drive it 100 to 300 miles a year, to shows, for Ice Cream etc. Let Shelley drive it when I have the Black one out. Super cool! But I think that the Candys are gorgeous and I am amazed I actually got one!
