The guy was buffing the last piece last night and burned the paint. Had to repaint it last night around 11:00 PM. Its the rocker piece that fits below the side panel. I spoke with him this morning the piece is cleared and sanded and just needs to be buffed. Supposed to be picking up Kat tonight around 8:30. I told them there is no tomorrow. this is way too close. If it's not ready I may be in jail before the night is over.
Well Purple Lady and I plan to leave for the Turkey Run Wednesday morning, but our Cat still isn't out of the body shop. I spent 7 hours at the shop yesterday helping the guy as much as I could. However we still didn't get it finished. What has been completed looks awesome and the paint is a mirror. We are supposed to definitely get it back tonight. It's taking allot longer (six weeks tomorrow) because the guy is an pefectionist. Yesterday he wet sanded and buffed the car ( hood, doors, deck lid, left quarter and rear pan) 5 times that I personally witnessed. However he had worked on it for several hours before I got there. Yet still when I left there were still a few small spots (pin pricks) he wanted to fix. He showed me yesterday that when you have the car out in the sun you can't see things that you can when its inside under the lights. The following pieces still need to be buffed out and installed back on the Cat. Right rear quarter, both side panels & lower rockers, nose, grille, headlights, front fenders, mirrors and bumpers. I was hoping to post pictures of it completed before we left for Daytona. Now I don't think that is going to happen. I also have been taking as many pictures during the process as possible. I don't want to post them until the Cat is completed. Those will definitely not be posted until after Daytona.
I designed the theme of the flames and we also picked out the colors. The air brush artist then embellished them with his own personal touches. The end result is awesome. It's like nothing no one else has. I can't wait to see what everyone thinks.
Keep your fingers crossed we have it for Daytona. But we are going with or without our Prowler. Hopefully with.ETMIDZT Sounds Like a Real Labour of Love by your Painter..... Wayne Finch Rich, sounds like it will be worth the wait. Hope you get it in time for TR Balistk I really do hope you can make it, I would love to see the final product.
