PROWLEN | In am ready to buy my performance plugs but still not sure of the best ones for my stock Cat. I was leaning toward Bosch Platinum+4, but also considered NGK V-grooves, Split Fires, AC Delco Rapidfires, etc. I really liked the Rapidfires in my other Mopar. You could feel the difference... What do you guys recommend? Thanks , John ------------------ Prowl-On... PROWLEN.... John (-: |
Mike Krehel | Here is the plug to use John: Bosch 4428.. This is a high performance Platinum replacement for the Prowler. ------------------ Mike Krehel ![](http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/smilies/burnout.gif) ProwlerOnline.com ![](http://www.prowleronline.com/images/99animatedburnoutsmall.gif) |
FatManInTheBathTub | Hey now Mike, so that was one of your secret weapons. Have you tried the Iredium plugs that CJ posted about???? |
PROWLEN | Thanks Mike, That was my #1 choice. The Iridiums sound cool but probably over kill for my stock application. I appreciate this site and forum. Thanks for all you do! jc ![](http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/smilies/silverprowlflame.gif)

Mike Krehel | I've tried the Autolite 5224 (recommended by Paxton) and also the Iridiums. I would have to say that it is subjective and they are about the same. The Iridium does claim to have a higher melting point, but it is much more brittle. I broke two electrode tips trying to gap them. Don't know which would be better in the event of a too lean condition. I have burned off the electrodes on my Autolite 5224's before with no ill effects on the engine. One thing for sure you should never use platinum plugs with nitrous or a supercharger. ------------------ Mike Krehel ProwlerOnline.com ![](http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/smilies/burnout.gif)

jd2ksilver | Yes, I read the caution Mach V Motorsports puts out about gapping. I assume the gap is the same as stock?? .048-.053 in. ???------------------

FatManInTheBathTub | Hey now Prowlen, the "Worlds Fastest Prowler"..............that would be "NAS-TCAT" runs NGK's............If your stock, it don't really mater what you run for plugs............ This message has been edited by FatManInTheBathTub on 04-29-2001 at 08:09 AM |
PROWLEN | Hey Fats, I take exception to the remark that if you are stock it really doesn't matter what plugs you run. Not all plugs are created equal and you can feel the difference between them. There are a lot of choices and I thought it was a fair question to ask what others were using. For me it is an easy affordable upgrade. I don't need to be the fastest but a cheap perk works for me. jc ------------------ Prowl-On... PROWLEN.... John (-: |
Todd Cameron | cheap perks works for me... guess I'll have to take the lil woman to Taco Bell again. ------------------ 2000 Black, 2001 Black Tie, 2001 Orange

FatManInTheBathTub | Hey now, I didn't mean nothing by that dude, but if you can feel the difference in spark plugs, you must have a built in dyno in your butt......I know I can't make that observation by the seat of my pants..................its your thing................do what you want to do...............I am......... |
John Edgecomb | Just finishing install of my MacMotorsports Nitrous Kit. What plug is best when using Nitrous? |
Gary C | I like NGK's very easy to read. |
Mike Krehel | Autolite 5224, this is a high performance plug for use with superchargers or nitrous. Gap to .035" Do not use the stock platinum plugs with nitrous
