Mike Krehel	Ed Helfinger emailed this to me and I thought I would share his tip: Hi Mike, Ed H. again, I have not done this yet but am planning to. My Kat is now hibernating for the winter; we just got dumped on. Tech Tip. This is a recommendation mainly for the front flaps but could be used in the rear set as well. -Mount UNTRIMMED mud flaps to the inner surface of the fender with Velcro instead of factory recommended installation. -Don't use self-adhesive strips but rather hot glue the strips on. (Hot glue can always be removed if necessary) -Surfaces for gluing must obviously be clean and dry. (I would recommend using Isopropyl alcohol after washing with soap and water; this can be purchased at any drug store) -Attach one strip along the bottom edge of the fender and two smaller strips up the inside. This is how I plan to attach mine. -If backing up and they get caught anywhere they would pull off rather than damage the fender. -Remove them before driving through tall grass or bumpy terrain at a fairground. -Flaps can be removed at your convenience for showing the Prowler and used on long trips etc. when warranted. -There is a risk of loosing them; adhesion should be checked from time to time, but I'd rather save the paint and fender from damage and keep one set at home as a spare. -I can't see this method of attachment voiding any warranty. But be forewarned!! There is a possibility for a flap to come off while driving at high speed and having one hit the side of the Prowler would defeat the purpose of having them in the first place. I feel that this should never happen if you do a pre-trip inspection and the fact that the flap is tucked in behind the tire and not subjected to a direct blast of air. If anything were to happen I feel it would only come loose therefore checking adhesion before AND after each trip is recommended. This is merely a suggestion and should only be undertaken if you feel comfortable with the idea. If you decide that this mounting method isn't working out for you then you can always mount the flaps conventionally. Happy PRROWLIN Ed H. P.S. Another idea is fabricating a set of front rotor vents/ducts like open-wheeled F1 & Indy cars; color keyed to your Prowler OR Carbon fiber!!!. (front only as these brakes create more dust due to weight bias under hard braking and are properly exposed) - "A perfect companion for cross-drilled rotors and to the styling kits already out there". (They may even help keep the front rims clean!) All customizing shops/retailers welcome to use these ideas. If someone is already selling ducts please let me know it'll save me the trouble of fabricating them. (Duct style could be mini-directional to the caliper or fully enclosed style covering the inside of the rim; my preference)
