Balistk | I need to trim down my front mud flaps and was wondering what gave you guys the best results when trimming them? I was thinking of using either Tin-Snips or my Drummel (sp?). Thoughts? |
BeWare | I got excellent results using brand new tin snips purchase at Sears This message has been edited by BeWare on 01-19-2003 at 08:30 PM |
GRROWL | dm, Before you cut, you HAVE loosened the brackets and moved them forward as much as possible? -GRROWL |
Joseph Mark | How do you move the front fender? I have already remove the three 15mm bolts and the black piece will not move upward to give more clearance for the mud flap. Please advise. Thanks |
ALLEY CAT | Joseph - I cut mine while they are off the car. I don't think they are talking about moving the actual fender itself. Lay them out and scribe a cut line where you want it,,,allow for the curve and remember which is r and l. I, like Rich above, used tin snips to cut. Came out nice,,,,I trimmed off 1 1/4". Some do less, others more, up to you. |
Marty Usher | I moved my right front fender forward because it was the only side scraping on curbs etc. I measured while the car was parked on a level garage floor and found the right side was over 1/2 inch lower in rear so I moved the fender forward to make it even with driver side. I have not trimmed mudflaps and have over 51,000 miles on car. Marty |
GRROWL | JM, Take a look at the following for a complete discussion: http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/007315.html Pumpkin posted this picture: quote: Originally posted by pumpkin: I am posting this pic for clarification. Okay Ed, which bolts are you talking about A or B?
Loosen the bolts marked "A" and move the brackets. A lot easier with the tires off of the car.
Hope this helps. -GRROWL

Joseph Mark | Thanks Grrowl,Marty and Alley cat. Now, I just got to find a proper wrench to sneek inside to loosen the bolt. Grrowl, Do you by chance know what size is the bolt(metric?)? Thanks, Joseph |
