| Low On Cash | Hello all - While I’m certain most of you guys might already have some provisions in your Prowler Trunk of the unlikely event of a flat - I figured I would share my little goodie bag. Below is the ingredients of my trunk bag: 1 - Soft Cloth Bag
1- Pair (1) of Vice Grips
1- 12 volt Air Pump with a long power cable & gauge
1- Can Of Fix-A Flat
1- Tire Plug Kit
1- Air pressure gauge In glove box 
One of the best things I ever did was to dump my original Run-Flat tires for a smooth riding set of Continentals. The ride quality improved 500% and most important, it helps to preserve the tightness and from loosening the fit of the panels. The original Run-Flats will eventuality shake the car to pieces and cause squeaks and rattles. For this reason I included a can of Fix A Flat tire mix, if your using the originals or even a new set with tire pressure sensors you’ll want to avoid using Fix A Flat since it could clog up the sensors.
Vice Grips - I can’t over emphasize the need for a good set of Vice grips for what ever or to tighten something to get home or pull something out of your tire! Enjoy - Mike Mas

| ed monahan | Side cutters can grip a nail much better than a set of vise grips and can get down into the tread.
Fix a Flat will ruin your sensors, but do whatever you want. |

Green Slime makes a version that they claim is safe for TPM's. I had their Safe Spare in my truck, it is both a pump and Slime combo. I never had occasion to use it.

| alrtg | Yes, you do have a good Vise Grip, not one of the cheap ineffective knock off versions. I would suggest you also carry at minimum a 10MM combination wrench as well as a long handle 15MM version and a 4 in one screwdriver that has both Philips and straight blades. I carry a Craftsman "Under Seat" tool box in the Prowler that I had purchased many years before the car. It has stood the test of time.
It fits nicely across the Larry Lord Hinge Protector's. Filled to the brim with tools, it is heavy enough to stay in place wherever I go. In eight years, it hasn't strayed.

| Low On Cash | This little 13 mm flat wrench is the most important tool for me to carry, since in the event of a short circuit and something starts smoking, this little jewel will dis-connect the battery cable and save my car. I store this wrench right under my drivers side floor mat so if I need it, she’s right there. The wrench is flat so you don't even know its under the mat. 
Just last week we took a ride to Maggie Valley, Tn and the tire pressure sensor went bonkers and stated this horrendous beeping. Of course all the tires were up. By turning off the ignition it would re-set, it but in a few minutes it started beeping again. Luckily, my trusty wrench saved my trip - I pulled the battery cable for a 10 min, it re-set the TPS module and we were good to go. As soon as I get some time that sensor and bulb will be history!

It was a joke - see how I used the winky face in my reply? Although one could argue that the 'trunk' is properly the storage area for the convertible top. |
| Low On Cash | Thanks I was just taking it as fun as well, I guess you old timers renamed it a hatch. Not sure being a convertible would really change much though since there is tons of them with trunks. LOL

Old timer? Over 15 years, but I still remember the salesman fussing about a potential buyer ruining a convertible top on a test drive. He recommended nothing in the trunk/storage area. So if all else fails, read the instructions... I checked the Owner's Manual (for my 2001) and on page 41 it says: 'To avoid damage to the top or rear window, check the top storage area at the rear of the vehicle interior to be sure it is clear of debris or other items. Do not use the top storage area for other storage purposes.' YMMV |
