Marty UsherTook my KAT to dealer for 30,000 mile transmission service and dealer did not know if they should and/or could take frame brace under tranny off to get the pan off and service.

I am hesitant to take to non-Chrysler place and have had extreme problems with other vehicles - specifically transmission service at the next closest Chrysler dealer.

WPGHas any one been able to remove the brace underneathe the transmission? I tried to remove it last year when I polished the rear frame and was unable to even move it. I thought that it may be welded in, but I did not see any welds. I don't know. My Prowler is probably in need of having the filter changed also, so I would also be interested in if anyone has done any of this on their own.

SnapCaseI just did it and yes you have to remove the brace for clearnec issues. It is fairly simple. Just remove the cross braces first and then unbolt the two bolts in the bottom of the frame on each side and it will drop right down. Use a rubber mallet to bang it down if it is a little stuck. unfortunatley the gasket i was given was really cheap so it broke as i put it on in mulitple places as i tightened it down. maybe iwas torqueing it to hard.

also do not remove that little 1/4 screw on the bottom of the tranny. its the transaxle fluid. i made that mistake so please read my post and help me out.
