Last night we attended the annual charity preview night for the Chicago Auto Show and Chrysler had a lone Candy Red for all to look at, climb in and play with. It received moderate attention both times we were in that section of the show. The '03 Viper was also easily accessible. The Razor was getting more attention. As to the Candy Red ... it's NOT ... it's Chevy Magnetic Red on the Corvette, it's Buick Red on a Park Avenue ... it's the same red as many other manufacturers are offering and have been for some time (in case of Corvette since '98). Ok, so it may be a shade or whatever "different", but I was anticipating a true Hot Rod Candy Apple Red ... but again, DC missed the mark. In summary, it is nice but not unique. It is sparkly but not show stopping. Not something I would jump to trade my yellow for by any means. A week from now Prowler bows from the automotive production world and it will have done so with a yawn rather than a splash. I appreciate the car for what it was and for the opportunity to own one, but it could have made such a greater statement while it was here, color-wise at least. My 2 cents ... |

I think its HOT, sold my new 2002 torch red roadster C5 Vette after I saw the Candyred Prowler. I also went to a auto show (LA), it took just one look for me. The very next day I was on the phone selling my Vette and looking to buy the the Candydandy Prowler. Thank GOD I didn't loose a dime on Vette. As for yellow I would rather have the Inca Gold, I like the tone down yellow, looks real smooth. Thats why there different colors, to each there own... |

OK, so I don't own a Prowler... but I'm gonna comment any way. I think DC did OK with the colors. Sure I like some better than others. I love the purple, black, Mulholland, and candy red. Silver, well it's ok, tends to blend to much with the road for me. Yellow, it's cool but I think I would tire of it after a while. The original red is too orange for me so I don't care for it any more than I do the Prowler orange (no Kentucky fan would be seen driving a Tennessee orange car!) or Inca gold. They're just not my cup of tea. If there was anything done wrong with the Prowler it was advertising (which was next to none). And word of mouth had the Prowler priced at all sorts of rediculously high prices. When I bought my SLK almost 2 years ago, I didn't even consider a Prowler for 2 reasons. 1, I hadn't been to Woodward yet and visited Prowler Alley (that would have set me straight). 2, I thought the Prowler was a whole lot more expensive than an SLK (wrong!). The Prowler is a very cool car, and I still hope to own one some day. I just hope they hold up well, and I can still find all the goodies I would like to have to go with one... Mike (FPO) |

Experienced the Chicago show yesterday. Lots of different concept cars. I thought the Candy Red color on the Prowler was hot! I'll bet it looks even better in direct sunlight. I like my Mulholland Blue better, but that's what makes us all different. As for the attention the Prowler was receiving, I walked by a couple of times and there were tons of people around it! Seems the big deal was getting your picture taken sitting in it. I wanted to have mine take, but there were just tooooooooo many people. Hotrod...

Having seen the Candy Red for the first time at CAAP, I liked the look. There are some colors that I personally don't care for, but this is one I would buy. ------------------ |

CJ posted here a couple of months ago that it was NOT Candy Apple Red, but a much deeper red. It should not have been a surprise at this late date. ------------------ |
