On my way to work today I had the top down while waiting in a left turn lane, just singing along to some tunes and minding my own business. Next thing I know I saw something flying towards my head. Last year at this same intersection I had my PT windshield smashed by a huge rock flying up from a truck. So my first thought is this is going to hurt a lot. Luckily I did have my sunglasses on because it hit my eye but it sure wasn’t a rock. It turns out that some passing motorist through a beef stick, wrapper and all, into my car. Whoever it was is lucky that they were long gone by the time I figured out what had happened. Has anyone else ever had something thrown into his or her car? |

Glad it was only minor and not something worse. I guess there are just some inconsiderate people on the road, or maybe they are just jealous because they don't have such a great looking car. We have been lucky that nobody has thrown anything into our car, although many years ago we had the inside of a car splashed with mud when some idiot drove past us through a large puddle of water. Yes, we should have had the windows up, but then the raining had stopped and it was rather nice and we were enjoying the fresh air. . ------------------ More 'Pumpkin' photos . . . . . This story reminds of a time my wife and I were returning from a nice Sunday drive south of Newark, Oh in our '32 Ford street rod when a car driving in the opposite direction heaved a whole watermelon from rear of their Vega which landed squarely in the middle of our windshield. Scared the living @#$% from both of us. Luckily the windshield held! By the time I got turned around...they were gone. Another time while attending the Street Rod Nationals in Oklahoma City, a passing vehicle threw a bunch of garbage out of their window onto our '32. I believe this kind of behavior is indeed born out of jealousy and ignorance. Pat |

That's a big problem today.........people have no respect for one another. Jealousy takes over common sense and courtesy. Glad that you suffered no serious injury. I've not had anything deliberately thrown at me, but I was driving down Woodward one day and there was a small pickup next to me. The guys were admiring the car and then pulled over in front of me, as the lane was ending. The tailgate of the truck was down and it had a tonneau cover on the truck bed. We stopped for a light and when the pickup accelerated after the light changed to green, three suitcases slid out of the back of the truck and landed right in front of the Cat. Thank goodness there was no one behind me, as I had to slam on the brakes to keep from hitting the suitcases. I honked at the guy and when he looked back, he must have seen what happened. Bob had jumped out of the cat and picked them up and put them on the curb. One of the guys ran back to pick them up. Scared the bejesus out of us!! |

Fortunately it all ended well without getting injured....it proves you have to be extra careful at all times! I've never experienced anything like that...the closest I've come was on my bike approaching the intersection on a green light and noticing a car travelling at a high rate of speed towards the red light. Even though I had the right of way,I felt he wasn't going to stop and sure enough.....right throught the red light he went...had I not stopped could have been a lot worse! ------------------ |

I just do not understand some people, I have had stuff like that done to me and have seen people do it to other people, A lot of time it is kids and they dont care about you or your property. Someday they will own something of value and someone else will do this to them, and then they will understand consideration of other peoples property. Two brothers would stand waiting for the school bus and throw snow balls with rocks in them. One of them hit my wifes windsheild when she was going to work. I found out where they lived and phoned them and told them they had to be at my house the next day after dinner or I would come over and talk to their dad. They showed up and we had a long talk, All of us were kids once and some were wilder than others, after I explained just how wild I was and that it is not a good idea to do stupid stuff, and when you feel you have to do somthing dont do it where everyone knows you. They never did anything around here again. Barry |

Knock on wood nothing like that has happened in my Prowler. I had a Black Mazda RX7. I pulled into a local burger joint next to some kids in a convert on my passenger side. They were eating fries with ketchup. I went indside and got my food and when I came out they were gone. I just hopped in my car in left back to work. When I got home later that evening I discoverd ketchup squirted al over the passenger side of the car. By this time is was dried hard. It actually ate the paint. Before that I also had a Triumph Sptifire Roadster. I left it parked with the top down at a sporting goods store. When I came out someone had put their cigarette out in the botton cushion of the seat. It was not an accident as it was jammed into the cushion. Both of these happen when I lived in Salt Lake City and both times in good areas of town. |

I was driving up the 15 freeway from San Diego to my home In Temecula 2 months ago and a ford f 150 drove past in the left lane. The passenger (about 25 or so) stuck his bald looking skin head out the window and just glared at my wife and of I. AS they passed us by 4 cars or so they emptied 24 pack of been onto the freeway to hit our car. The beer cans were exploding and flying at over 75 mph at the Prowler! This would have badly hurt the cat! I pulled a hard right and missed the cans. they continued to dump the full 24 cans for the next few miles!! I have never been so pissed off in my life. It was and will be the only time my prowler will ever have a beer shower!!. I tried to get the plate # but did not want to get that close to the truck. |

This didn't happen in my Prowler but another conv.I had about three years ago.We were on I275 and all traffic was stopped for bad accident and I was in left lane and a tractor trailer pulled up beside us then right lane moved about 20feet and guess what was hooked to this tractor.A trailer loaded with cattle and it was a trailer kind of like a crate sides with wood slates and opening and cattle do need to go pottie, right thru the opening in slates into pass.side and we could not move to get out of way.If there was a good side the driver stopped with us at first place with water to help us clean up this mess, the odor was still there was we sold car. |

Gene, that really stinks. lol. Last month the exact same thing ALMOST happened to me. I was near the stockyards and a tractor trailer loaded with cows was slightly in front of me when it happened. It missed me, thank goodness. Soliday, it is hard to believe someone could throw a beef stick across a median and hit what they were aiming at. He must have had an arm like Sandy Koufax or Randy Johnson. |

Well Gene, I'm going to try and top your story,,,here goes, and I'm embarrassed to admit it happened: Lethia and I had just finished attending the 2003 Nevada Spring Prowler event based outside of Las Vegas. We are on our way back to Phx and decided to take a different route for our return trip. We get onto I - 10 near Quartzite, Az,,,traveling about 85 mph in the silver cat with the top down in 90 degree desert heat. About five miles down the road, I see a Ram Heavy Duty pickup pulling a trailer (just like Gene describes above) on the merging ramp onto the Interstate. As I get closer, I see the trailer is full of cattle and this guy has his foot into the diesel motor heading for the blend area onto the highway. I'm in the right lane and see he is going to beat me to the blend mark in the road,,,so I ease on over to the passing lane thinking I'm going 15 mph faster than him. Just as I'm about to pass the mighty Ram Hauler, I see this giant stream of cattle urine shooting directly out between the trailer vane walls into the air in front of me The urine blast hits directly on the hood and windshield, over the top of us inside, spraying our hats with this foul mist of moisture! Nothing like getting pis$ed on while driving 85 mph on the open road! Three hours later on our arrival back home,,,the hats were history and the cat got a double bath that evening A gross ending after attending another great Prowler event. |

We were on the m/c heading north on some obscure road and a guy pulled out of a farm lane in a pick-up truck about a half mile ahead of us. I guess he was getting on it to pick up some speed when he lost 3 metal shelving units about 6 foot by 3 foot by one foot. I was going about 65 and gaining on him when the shelves hit the pavement. Luckily one crossed over into the oncoming lane and the other two went toward the berm. We went right between them and had a religious moment. |

Was driving up I-75 a couple of years ago and I was in the left lane. There is a concrete wall that separates the northbound and southbound lanes. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a wheel cover come off the wheel of a Cadillac in the right lane. It shot at lightning speed directly towards my cat across all lanes of traffic. Fortunately, there wasn't anyone too close behind me, so I hit the brakes in hopes that it would pass in front of me. The only problem was it was going to hit that wall and then I didn't know where it would go. It missed the front end of my cat and hit the wall, shot straight up into the air and at the same time I hit the gas. I watched in my mirror as it came down and hit the road behind me, but fortunately, I was far enough passed it that it missed me totally. Was a very close call! |

I was coming up thru Delaware in my 91 Z28..heard a loud CRACK...looked around and saw nothing. Then noticed a good chip in my windshield....funny thing was I was on a rural road and no other cars were around...I could only surmise I was shot at with a BB gun which is frighteningly common. Just a few months back there was a guy driving around the MD VA bridge area shooting people IN THEIR CARS with a BB gun. gOOD THING THEY CAUGHT THE BASTID! |

Febuary in Missouri. Black ice. Roller coaster 2 lane road. Driving about 15-20 MPH. Slicker-n-snot. Car comes up behind us. She decided she needed to pass. Saw her pull out to pass. Oh-oh! I let off the accelerator. As she went to pull back in in front of us, it broke loose. Nose of her cars slides in to deep ditch on my side of the road. Her back fender sliding down the road sideways, inches in front of my car. Almost in slo-mo her rear end lifted up into the air. I let off the brake pedal I had been pumping gently as possible. As I lifted from the brake and touched the accelerator as gently as possible. I went under her car as it was suspended in mid-air. Got stopped at the bottom of the hill. Went back to see if everyone was ok. Driver badly shaken up. 4 year old baby with nasty bump on the forehead. 1 year old baby adly shaken up. Lucky it all happened at such a slow speed. No really serious injuries. Got home after taking them to hospital. Washed mud off the roof of my car. I still can see that car hanging in mid-air above my car as I went under hers. Many years ago. |

I had the same experince with a Cow pissing out the side of trailer. It was like someone had turned on a fire hose loaded with pee. Luckily for us we where in the Ram and had the windows up. Stopped at the next exit and bought some bottled water to wash it off. That was the first time it has ever happened to me in over forty years of driving. now I am reading this appears to be a common thing. In '78, I had a 70 Cutlas. Was behind a tow truck towing a VW bug. Suddenly the bug started weaving side to side and I thought I better back off. That's either fixing to fall off or lose a wheel. About that time the rear wheel fell off the bug and plowed into my left side bumper, shot about 50 feet in the air, and came down behind me. Wrecker driver paid for damages. Another time I was coming back from a hunting trip. Following a pick-up. Had a caddy in right lane next to me and no shoulder. The truck had a 4'x4' piece of plywood in the bed that was catching some air under it, lifting it up and down in the bed. All of a sudden, it lifted all the way out and headed straight for my windshield, edge first. I froze. Then the wind tunnel on my car caught the plywood, lifted it right over my car and slammed it on the road behind me. The guy kept going. The people in the car next to me (and myself) couldn't believe what had just happened. Yet another time, a couple years ago, I was in the van heading down the freeway when the truck in front of me ran over a piece of fender or something in the road and slung it up into my van. It hit the hood, slid up hitting the windshield, cracking it and demolishing my wipers. After I composed myself, I hit the gas to get the guy's license plate number. He knew exactly what he did and took off. I got his number finally, but it didn't do me any good. Then there was the time I pulled over a trucker that dumped a load of rocks on my Blazer going down the freeway... but, thats another story... I won't even mention the time a lady in front of me lost her hood going down the freeway and never batted an eye. I missed it but the guy next to me didn't.
