Hi POA Enthusiasts,

POA enthusiasts using Firefox 4 and 5 will find the submit and send buttons will not work and the issue is with Firefox 4/5 and the new rules for HTML 5 and how form input types are handled.

The form methods used when viewed thru HTML 5 rules breaks the POA submit/send buttons used on some ubb code.

Firefox 5 also has this same issue so for now IE will be the best bet until the Firefox 4 rules are made backwards compatible.

There are some workarounds but this will require some massive regression testing because it involves changes to the input types methods used on this forum.

Will let everyone know if a fix comes around for Firefox users viewing the POA.

Thanks,

If you guys want to continue to use Firefox on the POA you can downgrade to FireFox 3+ version...

Here is the link in English:
http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-3.6.18&os=win&lang=en-US

All other languages:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

Users still using this release do not experience issues with the submit/send buttons on the POA.

Thanks,

It also worked fine when I used Safari. When I updated To Apple Lion it stopped working.

Bump...

The only work around at this time is to uninstall Firefox 4 through 14 and revert to version 3.x.

There are plans to review this issue and see what can be done to resolve.

Just an F.Y.I ..

Thanks Dan....we had our computer guru out a couple of weeks ago to do some other work on our computers and I brought up this issue. He said that, yes, I could go back to the old version but that Firefox is not supporting it anymore! I've been using I.E. for pms. Kind of a pain, but better than nothing!!!

Agreed.... it's obvious that technology has surpassed this boards backend. Firefox and Chrome both have major issues on this site.

And with all the support people have given over the years, you'd think an upgrade would be something doable.

I have to disagree with you there. According to the donations page, the site has only received $1875 in 2012. That is peanuts if you ask me. Not enough to run a site this size and make improvements. Let's try and get the financial support up so that the owners can fix this problem which is a real inconvenience to many.

How about any time you sell something or get a real good deal on something advertized on POA, you remit a percentage?

I would think this site is not cheap to keep running and with no membership dues required here I think they do a great job. According to donation stars under your name, I don't think you should be talking about support and upgrades.
