Interesting little feature, but let the shouting begin when you get to the section on cars from the 90's. http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1658545_1657686,00.html |

By the mid-1990s, car designers had powerful new computer tools at their disposal, allowing them to pursue low-volume, high-zoot projects that before would never have recovered the development costs. The Prowler was one such project. Inspired, if not plagiarized, by a retro-roadster design by Chip Foose, the Prowler looked like a dry-lake speedster from the 22nd century, with an open-wheel front end and low-slung hotrod fuselage. Except they forgot to make it a hotrod. Intent on containing costs, Chrysler stuck its standard-issue 3.5-liter V6 under the hood, good for a rather less than spectacular 250 hp. The Prowler didn't even have a manual transmission, which made it almost impossible to lay down the requisite stripes of hot rubber. The result was a flaccid little jerk of a car that threatened much but delivered little. |

Yeah the "little jerk" thing ticked me off...seems like the whole article is written by someone who despises the fact that some car companies had the balls to actually take a chance on putting something completely wild on the market. They hate the Chevy SSR as well, which I thought was a pretty slick car. |

exactly...I wanted to think the only thing this guy would like is small, efficient...green cars. but alas, the writer also hates the EV-1, GM's fully electric car, which he said was a expensive misfire, but almost every other publication I have read hailed as a breakthrough that was years ahead of its time. It's hard to peg just what he would like, considering this list seems very random. |

Here is an excerpt from the 1909 Model T Ford. It's obvious that this writer hates cars in general. A century later, the consequences of putting every living soul on gas-powered wheels are piling up, from the air over our cities to the sand under our soldiers' boots. And by the way, with its blacksmithed body panels and crude instruments, the Model T was a piece of junk, the Yugo of its day. |

Yeah, but this person isn't even telling you to think green. Again, He says the EV1 is one of the worst cars ever made and that car had zero emission! |

This guy shouldn't be allowed to pick up a pencil or post a picture. Did anyone notice he is writing about the 1997 Prowler and puts up a picture of a yellow Kat. That is one rare yellow 97 Prowler. He probably never even drove a Prowler! |

These idiots (and I am struggling to not use a much stronger work here) who write auto reviews for non-auto magazines (e.g., Time, Barrons, Forbes, Newsweek) are really second class writers... probably miserable in life because they are not either real auto writers or reporters covering real news. A few years ago the "auto" writer from Forbes wrote a damning review of the 2005 Mustang GT convertible. Now granted, every auto magazine raved about the car, as well as auto writers from local newspapers across the country. Ford had to expand capacity in order to make meet demand. This jack*** calls the car garish, unexciting, and not nearly the car as a Acura TL. Why would any writer compare a V8 muscle car (convertible at that) to a 4 door V6 sedan? As you can imagine, I fired off a fine long and very pointed letter to this fool. This message has been edited by pjr300 on 09-09-2007 at 08:40 AM |

Nawhhhh, no cars like that, besides everyone knows the 1978 Honda accord was a work of art in both style and crafstmanship. the work was so good that owners would continually buy new transmissions for them. just to have extras to oggle I guess. |
