I have 3 of them. Crazy list. Have you ever seen the size of the Corvair Club? They have their national meet in Dayton this year. It's huge. All I had to do was read these reviews to know that this is all about sales. The Prowler and the Viper were never about selling the most cars. The SSR sold over 24,000 vehicles. Not bad. I loved our Corvair Hardtop. Would buy another if I found the right one.

This past weekend I attended a Corvair event in Helen Georgia. I drove my 1964 Greenbrier 650 miles to get there.
I would estimate 100 Corvair's were in attendance and was told there was about 180 enthusiasts there.
The attached photo was taken early Saturday morning before the parking lot filled up.
My Greenbrier can be seen at the back of the lot (under the "Arrow").

Here is a Slideshow and a 7 minute Video from the event.
My Greenbrier can be seen if you look hard to the left side of the screen at the 5:47 and you can see me in the Black Corvair Forum tee shirt at 6:05. http://corvairspringfest.com/pic%5Cvideo-gallery

I wonder how many of us fit into this category.

How To Avoid Becoming A Car Hoarder
My friend wasn't really serious about buying this Autobianchi A112, but then we went and looked at it. And now he's on the verge of becoming a hoarder. Yesterday, I drove my friends over two hours to check out a cute Italian hatchback, a 1981 Autobianchi A112 not too far from Hitler’s birthplace in Austria. My friend Andreas didn’t really have space for the car, but he spotted it while browsing his local for sale listings, and it looked nice. “We’ll just have a look,” he said, nonchalantly. It seemed to me like he wasn’t that serious about buying the car and just wanted to take a cool day trip. Then we saw the car in person, and everything changed. Take it from me: If you want to avoid becoming a car hoarder, step one is to stop looking at for-sale listings. Because as much as you want to convince yourself that you’re “just looking,” that you’re “happy with your current fleet,” and that you “don’t have space anyway,” if a nice enough vehicle comes up for sale for little enough money, you will break. Everyone will; we are only humans, after all. The key is to actively avoid putting yourself in such situations.

Very cool Anrdea, and Dik, 100% accurate. Larry, I will sell a number very soon and am working that thought process. I now have 5 cars off site. Not good, storage is not cheap

Personally that is definitely NOT my problem. I have lots of problems, by the way. Lack of garage space is becoming a major one.

Kind of reminds me of one I currently own...

This is what the 1965 Corvair Monza coupe looked like the day I brought it home in October 2010.

This is what the 1965 Corvair Monza coupe looked like a few years ago. It is slowly going back together.

I bought the 1965 Monza convertible in July 2020 with the idea I could have something to drive sooner than later.

This is the 1964 Corvair Greenbrier Deluxe van I bought in December 2020 and spent two years on it before recently driving it to Helen Georgia and back.

This is a potential future project.
This van and the blue coupe were purchased from the individual I bought the Prowler from.
The Corvair's took a "Back Seat" regarding priority in the dozen years I enjoyed the Prowler.
When I sold my 1966 Mid Engine V8 Corvair coupe in 1999, I thought I was done with them.....apparently this was not the case.

I don't have a problem,I don't have a problem,I don't have a problem....Well, maybe a little bit of a problem...

Andria I was just wondering if you & John are related. We’ll come to think of it you, Ed & John have the same problem. Not enough garage space.

We’re converting a bedroom into a parking space. Well I should say I am, Sandy isn’t aware of it yet. Plans could change.

Ed it sounds like a good plan to me, of course there is the possibility of it could be both, parking spot and bed, yours! LOL

I don't understand why some of you have so many vehicle's! At least I have enough sense to stop buying until I build more garage space. I'm stuck at 13 for the last 4 years, but I have been adding a 2 car garage in my head. We will see what my getting older body has to say about it.

3 of my bedrooms are already full of Parts. As is, now, our entry way. Not to mention the garage and the shed. Gonna make some changes. Know I've been saying it. I so very much love cars, parts, the beauty of the manufacturing process, the beauty of the darn cars. Addicting ? Yup. Problematic ? Yup.

I wish I knew about the Corvair meet, I may have been able to go. I always loved Corvairs and I had one that was going to be a project, but I never got around to it so I sold it. I watched the video and look who I saw.

The event I attended in Helen Georgia is an annual event and has been at the same location for many years. It was however, the first time I went to it.

There is another annual event that is well attended in Maggie Valley N.C. This year it will be held on September 13-14, 2024 http://vairsinthevalley.com/

There is a National Convention taking place in Dayton Ohio July 21-25 - 2024 http://www.daytoncorvairclub.com/

Here is a link to a Corvair Forum I frequent... http://www.corvairforum.com/forum/

There is another one but it recently changed "Administration" where many less than desirable "Improvements" were implimented. Regretfully that forum has essentially gone down the proverbial drain resembles a ghost town these days.

Thanks Andrea, I will plan on next years event in Helen because it's a nice ride, not to far from me. Gives me a reason to go to Helen at a nice time of year.
