no pics.its located,on pass side of trans housing above the diff housing.bottom of sensor is above drive plate.doubt it very much if anybody has pics.no pics in manual either.its at the rr of rt side and by the torque converter.one question, when you changed the camshaft sensor did you also reinstall the very thin, paper spacer.

Thanks-found it & replaced it & after about 3 miles I now have a new code "P1391 manufacturer control ignition system or misfire". Getting a bit fed up with this.

OK-Problem is finally (and hopefully) solved. At the dealer for almost two weeks & they finally traced it down to the black/blue wire that is the sensor ground. The insulation had rubbed off under the intake plenum & was shorting out. Couldn't find it myself so this second time around the dealer found it-$470 but I thought it would be worse.

so,you dont know positively if it was the crank or cam sensor,if thats the case, could you please ask the tech which one it is.if your car has the problem im sure there are others with it also.sounds like a cut or pinched wire under the plenum.thanks.

If the crankshaft sensor is on the side of the tranny housing, would the ground wire run under the plenum at some point?
I think the camshaft sensor is near/under the plenum isn't it? Sounds like the camshaft sensor ground to me. JMO

thats what im thinking, but i would like to know positivly.if it was the crankshaft sensor,i would think the ground were would be at the rr.i was wondering when there would be a problem from the engine wire loom, since it gets hot all the time, since it sits right under the plenum.

Now that it's dependable it's time to fall in love again with my car. I emailed the tech & will let you know which wire as soon as I hear.

Thanks all, Mark
