The manual shows a dip stick just like every other car. It has a ADD mark and FULL mark. Mine is not like that. It is a Prowler dip stick,I checked.

The metal strip has a knurled area that indicates something. I would think that is the normal range the oil should show up in. What's confusing is that at the highest part of the knurled marking it says ADD oil. If the knurled area is a range marking why would it say ADD oil at the top? The Chrysler dealer said he has never seen one like this.

OK experts..time to go to work. This will be interesting.

The dealer owns a Prowler and checked his and it is not like mine but it has the same yellow handle and the length is exactly the same. The metal is not removable from the yellow handle on both cars so it has not been changed.

The manual says add oil where it is maked to add oil.

If I add a quart the level on the stick will be way above the knurled marks that show operating range level. It might have to much oil in it.

Go back to the dealer and have him check your oil with his dipstick.

My dipstick has a MIN and MAX mark line. On the stick it says Add 1 quart at min line. Do Not overfill. Part number 4663862AE

That's a nice picture of the dipstick. Really helps.

I think I'll drain the oil and put a new Mobil One filter on it and add the correct amount of oil. I'll see where it reads then.
