Just got my Infinity Kappa 63.9i speakers and re-read Pumpkin's excellent instructions. Got the door panel off (yes, use a flat blade to under the rear of the door handle bezel - much easier!#. I can see you use the plastic adapter that comes with them; the adapters will mount to the door panel with the original hardware but then how do you attach the speakers to the adapter? No hardware came with the kit and it looks like I will need very small #flathead?) screws and nuts to attach the speakers to the adapter without interfering with the panel.

Am I missing something or do I need to make a run to the hardware store?

- Thanks!

Were yours an older version maybe? The 63.9i speakers are 6" diameter, OEMs are 6-1/2", so the cutout in the door panel is too big - no way you could screw them directly to the panel.

No new holes needed at all. Mount the adapter to the back of the speaker and then mount in the door. You do not have to mount the adapter first, but can. It should have come with some little screws and clips to mount the adapter to the speaker. Did you buy it new? If so, take them back for a different set. Use the same stock screws to mount it all (the adapter) back in the door.

Aha! Tore the box apart - nothing; but finally found tiny bag of clips and screws stuck to the magnet of the other speaker. Thanks, guys.

FYI, bought mine from "Deal Buster" on Amazon.com; $85.95 plus $8.99 shipping. Ordered 9/3, delivered 9/4!
