Is anyone running 315/35r20's on the rear with stock wheels? Are there any clearance issues? Do they rub the fender at any time during suspension travel? These tires are almost the same diameter as stock, but are about 2" wider. Thank you, Dave |

According to tirerack.Com a tire that size is 28.7 inches in diameter. The original size is 29.3 inches in diameter
I have heard of people running 305/40/20 having problems rubbing the frame. This is a good topic I am sure you will get several replies by someone who has done this.

Was talking to Steve Clark this week and think that is what his dad put on his Prowler Maybe Steve will chime in. Being just a tad shorter changed the speedo reading some.

I have the 315/35/20 on the back of my car, and no problem with them fitting on stock rims, or rubbing anywhere. |

305/35ZR-20 Hankook Ventus R-S3 This is what my Dad is currently running without issue, other than the speedometer reading higher than actual. |

I've got the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 315/35/20's on the stock rims and never had any issues with them. |

I always heard that people running the stock rims with 305/40R/20 tires rubbed the frame. The 315/35R/20 are another 10 mm wider. Anyone have answers or opinions? |

On a 295 / 40 /20 tire, it is my understanding it breaks down as follows: 295 designates the tire width. 40 means the sidewall height is 40% of the tread width. 20 of course is the wheel size. I have spent a lot of time looking at technical information on tire sites regarding overall diameter, revolution's per mile, tread & sidewall dimensions etc...to determine what would best fit on my Prowler when I need to again replace the tires. My first choice, for myself on my car, would be to once again purchase the O.E. Replacement tire IF it were still available. What is amazing is that some manufacturers make a specific tire in only one size designed to fit one specific car and nothing else. I guess these other cars even though model specific, were made in much larger volumes each year than our car's entire production. It would be nice if more manufacturers would add our rear tire sizes to their productions that match the front they already produce,(or the other way around). Goodyear foe example produces both sizes for our car but not the same series or tread patterns which I feel to be important. It seems that every time I find a tire I think might work for me, I can't find it again. Searching tire sites can be extremely frustrating and "Tiring" mostly because they don't seem to be easy to navigate for those of us trying to be creative at finding a solution to our needs. JMO
