Prowl'n NC Mtns and train ride

When: Friday - Sunday Oct 19 - 21st

Where: Murphy to Bryson City, NC

Last year we hosted a cruise thru the NC mountains and some had showed interest in maybe doing a train ride this year.

We have several Prowlers that are getting together the 3rd weekend of October (19th - 21st). We will be meeting at our home in Murphy, NC and doing a short cruise up to Bryson City, NC and board the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. (WWW.GSMR.COM)

The train ride crosses Lake Fontana and runs along the Nanthhala River with a short stop over at Nanthhala Outdoor Center (http://www.noc.com/). We made a stop there last year with the Prowler group and watch the whitewater kayakers.

The train ride cost around $47 per person and takes about 4 and half hours.

We are planning on leaving Saturday morning (Oct 20th - 10am) for a short cruise up to Bryson City, and having lunch before boarding the train. The train departs at 2pm, but they want us there around 1pm.

After the train ride we plan on returning to Murphy and having Dinner. For those that have time and would like to cruise Sunday, we could head over to Helen, GA for Octoberfest, or any other scenic drives.

We still have a few bedrooms available between the 3 Prowler owners that have homes in the area. Otherwise there is a Holiday Inn Express, or Best Western, or a few Bed & Breakfast in downtown Murphy.

If your interest, contact us as soon as possible. Call or email for more info. If we can get 20 people together, we could maybe get a group discount on the train fair.
