John,

Okay, but please help me here. Please help clarify what do you mean serious people that want to Prowler play? Your event sounds like fun but I would just like to understand before committing. We've been to these places a number of times so recognize the roads and traffic.

A number of us just ran the Tail of the Dragon in October. I think that there was the serious group, the group that wanted to go fast and the Buick group. Seemed to work out pretty well based on the comments afterwards.

The Tail of the Dragon was the highlight of the Smokies trip. I'm sure they got some real crooked roads in Colorado but I have never driven there. What about Pikes Peak? Is that on the list?

Wow IM sorry I have missed this... By the meaning of serious I mean that if your going to put your name on the list to come, as I have put my name on the block for 35 rooms that if you sign up for a room, please try to show.. The last two events that I have been to what turned from a 50 plus Prowler Event to a 17 car show.. It is much easier to plan a small event and it also allows you to do more things in a shorter amount of time.. It's easier to get restaurants, get fuel and what have you with less cars.. Don't get me wrong as I would love to have 100 Prowlers here like was in Vegas and the Mile Hi Prowler group could handle pulling it off.. I just don't want to make plans for 100 to only have 20 show.. I'm just looking for People that say they will go, to show. Not someone that is thinking if they don't have anything better to do they might go.. Someone that is just putting there name on the list just because there friends are on it with no intention of going.. Also for the ones that like to go fast there will be a Bandimere Day.. Again I'm sorry I missed this and will try to do a better job of scouting the site.. Any questions you can E mail me at jcollinshemi@yahoo.com or call me at 720-934-3540..

I understand where you are coming from on that. I dealt with that through 17 years of Woodward Dream Cruise. I understand when people want to go, plan on going but then have some other issue come up and can't. What I didn't like was saying you were (early in the process), decide not to (which is ok) but not letting the host know you won't be attending after the plans are made for a certain number of people.

Don,,,, YES,,,The paving project was completed on October 1, 2011 to the top.

I was unaware of this, as my last trip up to the summit many years back was done on what seemed like the last 14 miles of gravel road,,,which wasn't fun on the car paint.

Its now a clean GO!

I'm only at 37 rooms as of last week.. My name and credit card is on the line for 35 rooms for 6 days.. It looks like it will be a small event as of right now, and I'm fine with that.. There will be a tribute to one of our fallen members (Marc Scarbery) who left us so suddenly at our June 20th-27th event.. Plus a special trophy for the shoot out at Bandimere Drag Strip with his name on it.. He was so looking forward to seeing some of his Prowler friends at this event.. It makes you wonder just how many more we will loose in the next few years... We all should try and make a few events in the next few years if we could, as time does fly by, and we have no guarantee on just how long we have or how long we will be able to drive.. As far as posting a list of attendees, I promised myself that I would not post one up as to who will be showing just in case something came up and they couldn't make it, not wanting to pressure anyone.. I'm fine if they want to post up and tell you themselves if there going... I'm also hoping to see some old friends at the event and to meet some new ones.. There will be a few 5.0 Stroker Prowlers at the event and I'm hoping for more.. John#onecatnodog)

Noah and I are up for the trip. Sounds like my parents are going to pass. Mom had her knee replaced and is still recuperating. Anyone else going from out East? It would be nice to travel with a group. If your booked, post here and let us know you're going.

How many days are you planning on taking to get to Colorado?
From Indiana it would be two heavy days of driving or three easy days. I am thinking the three day route.

Padroo, we can't make it due to a grandchild due on June 19 but I would recommend taking Rt. 36 from Indy to Denver. Put the top down and enjoy the countryside. It is the old Pony Express route and there are some interesting things to see and you aren't fighting semis at 70 MPH. It is a little shorter, also.

Looks like from the Chicago area it is 1000 miles (16 hours). So I'm thinking at most 2 days.
