Why pay Rip-Off Prices? I'm tired of reading about "The Prowler Store's" GREAT deals.
$25.47 each, plus shipping. And that is from-the-factory BRAND NEW. Part Numbers 4865190AA and 4865191AA. (Right and Left).

Here is a link to the place I buy from, just plug in "Chrysler", "Prowler" and "2002" if it shows up blank. Just plug in the part numbers I've listed and place your order.
'97-'02 Chrysler/Plymouth Prowler parts are the same for all years except for some '97 Engine Parts and a few Interior items..
http://www.partswebsite.com/rtpartsco/oemparts/chrysler-117/4865190AA.html

All it takes to track down Factory Replacement parts for our Prowlers is a little research and some patience.

Thanks for wising up new owners to the search for Prowler parts. All business operations need to turn a profit, but should not take unreasonable advantage.

Robin I was not specifically referring to you with my reply. I was TRYING to give 1st Prowler an alternative to the pricing from the Prowler Store in Florida. And anyone who posts a Link to any specific Vendor, has given that Vendor a RECOMMENDATION whether aware of it or not.
It really chaps me to see some of the prices they charge and unknowing New Members fall for it since they dont know anywhere else to look. As a long time member, I feel if I have price info or Part Numbers that a New Member doesn't have, then I should share them. My mistake was posting in an open forum rather than through PMs, which I usually do.
You keep buying from the Prowler Store if it suits you, I dont give a rat's ass one way or the other.
Before you give a recommendation for any Vendor, I'd suggest you do a "Search" for that particular Vendor and read some of the dirty tricks and rip-offs that company has done to other Members and Vendors on this Site.
As always, this is JMO. And to 1st Prowler, sorry to jack your Thread but this time I just dont feel like keeping my mouth shut.

I don't feel that providing information is giving a recommendation to a vendor. That's an assumption on ones part and not fact. On the other hand one can give a recommendation if one likes and it can be done w/out bashing another vendor. I wholeheartedly agree that The Prowler Store is high priced but again it's up to the individual if he or she wants to buy it if no one else is offering it. I don't think it should be a goal to drive The Prowler Store out of business. On the contrary I'm glad they're a source for parts. What if no one else has the part. To keep your Prowler on the road I would think you would want the parts available rather than just be out of luck. Hardtops perfect example of this. Just so happens at 2900. they are a good buy. TGFs were much more expensive yet they're always praised. Bottom line we should all be happy that they are there just in case no one else has the parts you need. Then it's up to the person whether he or she chooses to spend the money or not. Everyone who hates the Prowler Store always says they don't care where you spend your money but they always seem to get real hot at the mention of The Prowler Stores name. My 2 cents.

I agree too Robin. People can make their own decisions. Nothing wrong with posting a link to the prowler store. They have lots of nice stuff, not available elsewhere. They are overpriced on many things and that is their decision. I'm sure they lose business because of it. But we know it, they know it and new members should be made aware of it.

Nice of you to offer your stone guards too!

Well. 1buddyc I will have to admit that stung a bit. As you can see I have one star beside my name. Oct 2013 I bought my prowler and then put it away for the winter. I used this forum over the winter to educate myself through all the fabulous knowledge on this site. I had a thread requesting the same part and finally one person sent me the link to the prowler store. I now had the name and the correct info to make a decision. Nowhere did this person say buy them. I appreciated the identification of the part. Plus I never got a PM from you. Plus I hope you didn't tear a strip off the person that took the time to try and help me out. You can do business with who ever you want. I would never slap a hand that was stuck out in kindness. You tried to not own up to disrespecting me by putting JMO. But your words were aimed right at me.They were not recieved well.

Oh well life goes on. We just lost 3 members of our RCMP this week.
I'm going to focus my energy on a way of raising some money to send to there families.
I was thinking of making three big crosses and putting the name of each OFFICER DOWN on the cross.

Then give three measly days of my life. One day for each of there lives.
Hope people will stop by and give a dollar to help out the ones left behind.
I will stay outside 72 hours just to show we do care for those who serve.

Well take care folks. Robin signing off.

Silverkat, I concur with your post 100%. I have purchased several items from the Prowler Store and never had a problem with them. I realize some of their things are overpriced but you don't have to buy from them if you don't want to. I would say they probably have more Prowler related items for sale that any other vendor besides the factory. Everyone spends their money how they see fit and should not be criticized for using any vendor of their choice. That's my 2 cents.

Is your cat a stuffed-shirt that does not have a sense of humor? (or a stuffed cat, possibly?).

Some of the newer folks ask for advice and a lot of the older members give advice on how to fix things, or how to find parts, how to diagnose a problem, etc. Usually the advice is very good and sometimes there are numerous answers, some of them correct, others maybe not so much.
Advising the newer folks which vendors are RELIABLE, HONEST and REASONABLE fits right in with all that free advice.
Therefore I don't think it is horrendous to warn newer folks that a few businesses tend to rip you off. Again, the final decision is yours, but you can't make an INTELLIGENT decision if you don't have all the information.
Just my two cents and something to think about. Other opinions tend to vary, I have found. And I can live with that.

They say that unsolicited advice is always self serving.

1st prowler asked if anyone knew of someone selling the rear fender guards. He didn't ask for the least expensive seller or sellers to avoid. I'm sure he can make that decision, once he receives a few options. He is an adult.

Say what you want about the prowler store, but one thing I've never heard them do is trash another vendor. People who sell prowler products are biased when it comes to opinions of other vendors selling similar products. That is where the line is crossed IMO.

The prowler store prices are fully disclosed on their website. Anyone can see that they are high priced on many things. The other labels of dirty tricksters and rip-off artists should be suspect when coming from another vendor. In most cases, it's probably hearsay and could be completely untrue. JMO

So basically you are saying Tom Mills is lying about them ripping off his design and that they didn't really run up the price of the trailer hitch and then falsely claim it was damaged after buying it on eBay and the POA member got stuck paying shipping both ways?

I don't think I've ever heard Tom Mills trash another vendor. He doesn't need to go that route. His products stand on their own merit.

And the thing about the hitch was speculation by an individual ebayer, selling his own hitch, not a vendor. it is not a fact. It's the way some (you, a vendor who sells trailer hitches) have chosen to read and reiterate the situation, over and over.

Some of your posts about the Prowler store:

$320 for a set of these is absurd! No wonder people go to China to buy stuff. There's about $0.50 of plastic in those. If they made these in China, they would be $5.98 in Walmart. Actually they would suit a dollar store, mixed in with the plastic halloween toys.
Get real prowler store.

now where's my morning coffee?

2. Hardtops 3/3/2103

Well folks, it looks like The Prowler Store has weaseled out of this deal and cancelled all 4 purchases.
Go figure eh? Remember that next time you are thinking of dealing with this company.IMHO

3. Hitches 5/5/2013

I have a theory on why the PS wanted KK's hitch. I think they needed an OEM hitch to photograph for their website. Photographed it and sent it back to KK just like a walmarter returning a dress after wearing it to a party. If you look on their site you will see the "NEW" hitch page where the picture of the hitch they are selling is labelled "Factory stock Trailer Hitch Pictures". All of their pictures are factory hitches. Their wording cleverly refers to "factory" hitches.
I believe there is a patent issue with people making prowler trailer hitches. If they are not substantially modified from the original, there could be some drama and this is PS's way of talking around that issue. If you are buying a PS hitch, you might want to ask for actual pictures of their reproduction hitch and if it is authorized by Chrysler, carrying the same liability coverage. Ask for the engineering data, proving that the hitch has been tested to meet Chrysler's specifications.

But my experience with them is if you ask too many questions, you are ignored.

If their hitch is an authorized reproduction and well made, it's not a bad price considering it comes with the ball mount insert.

I can't get a close up of it to compare. The "click here for more pictures" doesn't work. They do look very similar from a distance. But at $849 painted, who would buy theirs? Tom's are $595 for a proven perfect product.
Bite my tongue but is it possible they are an authorized re-seller of Tom's product?

I still have an open eBay dispute with him

5. Rear mud flaps 11/18/2012

I would rather use cut up milk jugs than pay the prowler store price.

6.3/4/2012 Hitches again

I can't wait till someone steps up and starts making these at a reasonable price.

Wasn't there a member here planning on making them?
