Today I tested the new aluminum radiator. Outside temperature 87, feels like 91. AC running . Driving around the temp gauge stayed dead center on half. Stopped at some long lights and the needle never moved At one I had to sit through two greens Got out on the interstate and ran 80 to 85 I accelerated hard up to 100 a number of times. The temp needle only went just above the half mark. Before on a day like today the needle would have been up around the 3/4 mark. I am a happy camper. Now I just need to get some work done on the Prowler trailer and we are ready for the drive to West Virginia.

Hey Rich,

Are the Prowlers experiencing overheating problems ? Notice you have been hot on the heals of getting that Aluminum radiator in. Looks like it worked out wonderfully!

John

Mine has had a tendency to run hot at times over the years. This past year it got worse when in the summer heat I either ran it hard or ran at 80 or over on the interstate. This radiator is supposed to be more efficient than stock plus it’s made of aluminum and should last forever.

John, mine has never ran over the half way mark even though we have had heat waves in New Jersey 3 days or longer of ninety plus even with air conditioning on. I plan to eventually plan to upgrade to the aluminum version, but not until it is necessary.Maybe I am one of the lucky ones.

Just to clarify my old radiator could have bee partially clogged or something. Instead of having it flushed etc and since this new radiator became available I thought it to be just as easy and maybe a better option just to replace it. Especially since the new radiator was only $425 including shipping. Besides when we can we need to support vendors who develop aftermarket parts for our cars. JMO.

Glad to hear there’s an option now and it works.

Who sells them ? Just so we have the reference in case we need one down the road.
