Is there any advantage of strapping the soft top down with the straps in the trunk? It looks like it would cause a crease in the top,I never use them. Opinions? |

CAUTION! You will get wear marks from the constant movement and vibration if you don't strap it down. JMO |

Also good idea to take a rag and tuck in the center by the latch and on the right side where the top release latch is. It will keep the top out of the latch and wear on the top at the release. Both of these suggestions was from an engineer on the prowler I always strap top when in down position and make it tight. It might be that way for months in the summer and shows no sign of creases. |

Thanks for the information. I rarely drop the top down but I'll remember that in the future. The top is perfect and was afraid the straps might wrinkle or crease it. |

Wildcat is right. I wrap a beach towel around mine and tuck it in so the top does not get caught in the latch mechanism as happened to some owners. |

I have a synthetic chamois that is stored in a round tube. When my top is down (on the car guys) I will place the tube between the top and the latch. It keeps the top far enough away to prevent damage. |
