Karen & Laddie's trip to NY/CT
2003-11-05
We had terrific trip up to NY/CT visiting our daughter, soninlaw & two granddaughters. There house is complete just finishing the driveway and yard... While there we had the opportunity to meet up with couple Prowler & 300M friends we've met through the POA site... Also made a side trip to Evans Cooling in Sharon, CT. On Friday, Oct. 31st I met Chuck Tilson in Newtown, CT at the Blue Colony diner and from there we took a ride by some of the homes he is building (very impressive) and than over to his house and looked at his two Kats... Chuck has one great road to ride along to get to his house - it's made for the Prowler... Thanks Chuck for the lunch and it was a pleasure to meet you. Hope to see you at one of the events next year.... Sorry we didn't get to meet Tom. Maybe next time... In the morning I had taken route 22 up from Patterson, NY to Amenia, NY & across hwy 4 to Sharon, CT and than route 7 back down south on the CT side into Brookfield and over to Newtown. Traveled around 110 miles but, it was a beautiful cruisin' route and would be great for a lil Prowler cruise... On Saturday, Nov.1st we headed down to West Nyack, NY at the Palisaides Mall to meet George (Steel Blue)& Jackie Deane and Al Chianelli (Butchee). It seemed to be a good meeting point since we were all coming from three different directions. My granddaughter Amber rode down with me in the Yellow Kat top down (52 miles) and the other granddaughter Brittany rode with me on the return trip to Patterson, NY. Karen, Rachelle (my daughter) and the other granddaughter rode down in the chase car. It was really a pleasure to finally meet George & Al. We spent the first hour or so looking over the three cars while the ladies went into the mall. Here's a pic of George's custom plenum intake (same intake as the Prowler). He's sanded and painted it Silver. The plenum has been modified to incorporate the NOS system directly into each chamber. This is a unique, very clean and neat installation. Very professional. In addition to the NOS bottle in the trunk, he has added an auxiliary fuel cell along with fuel pump to go along with the NOS system... Plus he has several other mods on this 300M that could also work on the Prowler... Here's a pic of Al's twin Turbo installation. This is a very clean installation with the twin turbos on each side of the motor with a set of headers. This system and setup fits very neatly under the hood. It really looks like it's a natural. Al offered me a chance to test drive his twin turbo Kat. So, I gladly took him up on the offer and went for a test run or two... When you hit the pedal, there is a slight lag than it kicks-in & takes off... It spun the tires going into 2nd. I drove it in "D" and just accelerated into 3rd gear. It is faster than my Paxton supercharged car. My guess is Al's car will run mid 12s with good temps. My hope is that one of these days we'll get a good cross section of all the performance modified cars on the track. That would really be something and nice to see how all the cars run on the track. After looking at the cars, we met up with the ladies and had lunch at a restaurant in the mall and than went to watch the Amber & Brittany "Build-a-Bear" at one of the shops in the mall. It was a terrific trip and really appreciate the time George & Jackie & Al took to come over to NJ to meet us on Saturday. Sure hope we get to meet yall down the road again....

Here's 1/2 " fin compared to 1" fin used in the new aluminum radiator built by Evans for the Prowler. The stock Prowler has two 1/2" fins and the new Evans has two 1" fins. Doubles the radiator capacity and increases overall cooling system capacity by 50%.

This radiator is similiar to the Evans Prowler radiator with two 1" fins. It's a bolt on swap-out for the stock radiator.

Here's an LS1 Corvette motor they're testing on their flow testing equipment. This motor has simliar cooling system design like Prowler with thermostat on the intake side. They're working for a cooling system fix for high HP C5s motors...

George D. painted plenum with modified intake for NOS intake - very innovative, unique design & very clean. Aluminum blocks molded into plastic intake plenum (same plenum as Prowler).
