Just a thought.
Could the problem be because we all clean our A frames with
Some type of cleaner Water and the cleaner gets inside of the ball joint and cause it to break.
I have noticed that the bottom joint has no grease fitting but the top has one.
If joints are replaced and have grease fittings maybe we can lube them and force any water and cleaning chemical out of the joint. What is your thoughts on this.

A sealed unit should never need grease or be contaminated unless the rubber sealing boot is torn or damaged in some way!
There is no problem with a sealed ball joint and they are normally as good if not better than an unsealed unit which has the chance of being contaminated by water or dirt.
Personally I would prefer a sealed ball joint as it its much easier to keep the surrounding area clean.
