Posting these for Don (kozican). These are the pictures of the balljoint that simply f3ell out while he had his daughter in the car and going slow, Thank God...

Thanks Fred, Look at the Lt wheel and how high it is compared to the right side in the last pic. I noticed while we were at the scene, I started the engine and stood outside the drivers door while turning the steering that the Lt wheel seem to just hang in the air. There is really no pressure of the tire sitting on top of the control arm. My thinking would be that there would be LOTS of pressure from the upper control arm as well? Oh well.....Just so DC takes a look so others dont have the same problem......BTW, The car has 21k miles for all who are interested.....Don

What is the feed back from DC?Was the ball joint greased? Glad everyone is ok.

HI GUYS , I NOW HAVE MY YELLOW 99 REPAIRED ( BOTH SIDES ) THANKS 2 MY PROWLER TECK ( EARNY - A GREAT AND CARING GUY ) IT ONLY TOOK A FEW SECONDS OF TALKING WITH HIM AND HE SAID HE WOULD REPLACE THE UNDAMAGED RIGHT SIDE AS WELL ..... THANK U THANK U THANK U EARNY ....I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER NOW, I FELT AS IF IT WAS JUST A TICKING TIME BOMB WAITING 2 COME APART ...... I SENT THE DAMAGED LOWER LEFT SIDE ASSY. 2 WASHINGTON 4 INSPECTION AND WE WILL C WHAT HAPPENS NOW ....THE GENTELMAN SAID THAT HE WAS INVESTIGATING 6 REPORTS ON HIS DESK NOT INCLUDING MINE OR THE DAMAGED YELLOW PROWLER IN HAWAII FROM A YEAR AGO , AND I MENTIONED 2 HIM ,THAT JUST THINK HOW MANY OWNERS OUT THERE MIGHT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM BUT JUST GOT THEM FIXED AND TOLD NO ONE , AND THINK ABOUT HOW MANY PROWLER OWNERS HARDLY EVER DRIVE THERE CARS SO IT WILL BE QUITE SOME TIME BEFORE THEY HAVE A BALL JOINT COME APART MAYBE MANY YEARS FROM NOW WHEN THEY HIT SOMEWARE BETWEEN 25,000 AND 30,000 MILES , I JUST HOPE THERE ARE STILL PARTS AROUND TO REPAIR THOSE CARS WHEN THAT HAPPENS ..... I WANT 2 THANK PAN PENA 4 ALL OF HIS HELP 2 ME OVER THE YEARS , DAN U R A GREAT GUY ......... AND ALL OF U OWNERS OF 1997 , 1999 AND SOME 2000 PROWLERS PLEASE WATCH YOUR BALL JOINTS CARFULLY , IF U START 2 FEEL A TIGHTNESS IN THE STEARING WHEEL PLEASE CHECK YOUR BALLJOINTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ........ LARRY MEIER , LINCOLN NEBRASKA OH AND MY BALL JOINT SEPARATED AT 28,000 MILES JUST AS I WAS GOING OVER A BRIDGE AT 35 MILES AN HOUR SO I SLID ON THE LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARM ALL THE WAY DOWN THE BRIDGE UNTILL I COULD TURN AROUND A CORNER AT THE BOTTOM ....... REAL XCITING ..........I DONT WANT 2 DO THAT EVER AGAIN /

Blwnyellow99, thanks for that update. That is exactly the type of response I was hoping to see. I have 27,300 or so on my 99. This is a critical item to keep an eye on. Thanks again and glad to hear they took GREAT care of you at the dealer.
