I stopped by yesturday to check on my baby and to my surprise the control arm was in. They already had it on and were waiting to finish a few trim adjustments. They also still needed to perform the alignment. I was pleasantly surprised!!! I also got a good look at the control arm. There wasnt any evidence of luberication what so ever. The socket was BONE DRY and very "powdery" it almost appeared that the powder was shavings/rust from the ball joint itself. It looked very much like and was the color of brake dust.Unfortunately there is no way to check the other side. If anyone knows how I might be able to tap a grease fitting into the underside of the control arm I will feel much better about driving it. There's not a doubt in my mind that the lack of lube is the cause of failure. My advice to all is to pay close attention to any hint of "hard steer" and take it in to the dealer.
