This is a serious question. I see references to hard steering being a sign to watch out for. My Prowler only has 5100 miles and it seems Ok but it is stiff or takes some effort when backing up or turning at a slow speed like in the driveway. It seems OK on the road and at highway speeds. I have nothing to compare it too since this is the only new and really nice car I have ever owned. Also has anyone kept track of production date and failures to see if it was in a certain time frame?

I am very worried now. I was not when we were driving with the guys today. But now this is serious. I am seriously thinking of putting the car away until i get my letter and then go in for the recall.

If these things may/will fail when I on the highway this is not good.

blu... these have power steering... think of hard steering as if the power steering is no longer "there". Whenever your going slow, even with power steering, more effort is required to turn the wheel.

Hawk, I am not prying into your financial situation but if you are making payments on the car, are you willing to make a couple of $1000 payments and not be able to use the car? If it is paid for, think of it in those terms.
That said, those of us that live in the cold zone let them sit for months on end, all winter.
Mine will be 4 years old this week and I am going to run it on the KY Speedway track Saturday. If I get killed you can post, "I told you so" next week. You only live once so I figure I am closer to the end than the beginning and I might as well have a little fun.
Everyone has to make their own decisions, however.

One thing I read was that after turning the wheel it would not return to center without assistance. This may help
