Something You didn't know about with the Ball Joint Recall. Say your dealer only sold 20 prowlers in all. He will only get 2 (10%) kits at first. Bottom line. Be nice to your dealer or you will have to wait, and I understand a while for the second batch. Kid Rock |

That's great, I think the local dealer only sold 2 or 3 total! And the Dealer's wife has one of those! Guess who gets the first one? God I hope your wrong on this! ------------------ |

Before this also gets blown out of proportion the following should be noted. According to Jesus DeLao the parts manager at Ontario Chrysler any dealer that sold a Prowler will AUTOMATICALLY be sent enough kits to service 10% of the cars he sold. Any more needed kits are up to the dealer to order. They will not be automatically sent. Relax, every car will be taken care of. Ontario Chrysler has already placed an order for 10 kits and will be placing orders for more kits as needed. ------------------ |

So, since my dealer only sold one kat (to me) he will get no kits without ordering? |

Just what info do the dealers need to place orders? My dealer says they haven't heard anything yet. |

I have a family member that owns a DC dealership. He says, that the vendor can only make so many. He says the squeekest wheel gets the grease. Ya now what I mean. Kid Rock PS, Mom got her recall done, she says the steering is smoother for some reason, maybe in her head??? |

My dealer is in Dayton Ohio. He has only received 1 set so far. They are going to order another set for his Kat (Red 99 on the showroom floor)that he hasn't driven yet. They seemed to think it wouldn't be hard to get more. I think everyone has a better chance to try their selling dealer first, then go for the larger dealers. They get more attention! ------------------ This message has been edited by Buckaneer on 03-31-2003 at 06:52 PM |

There should be no problem at all in getting the repairs done as soon as the parts are available. One thought for the Prowlers in the SoCal area,,, It may pay to take your car to Ontario Chrysler since they service most of the local cars. I'm sure that any service department can do the work but a Prowler Certified Technician who does a few of the recalls should be a little better or quicker than a tech who is doing his first. Kid Rock, Thanks for the info. Any idea on the exact date the dealers will be officially informed? I want to get this done ASAP because I'm very reluctant to drive my cat until I get this fixed. ------------------ |

Thanks for the info. What if I have my Prowler serviced at a Dodge dealership that has not sold any Prowlers, will they be able to just order the parts for the recall? I am going there today to set up an appointment and talk to them to see what they can do. ------------------ • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 This message has been edited by William Gallagher on 04-01-2003 at 07:50 AM |

I was told by Dodge dealer they were not allowed to do service on Prowler,as a Chrysler dealer could not service a Viper. These rules are set by Chrysler. |

I just checked our DC parts inquiry screen today and parts are in good [100-200 pieces] supply at almost every depot. However I guess like our dealership, most sent only 1 tech to be Prowler certified. So the wait may be for his schedule to be open and not for parts. |

My dealer in Hobe Sound, FL just got word of the recall on March 28 and I'm having my Ball Joints replaced on Thursday (4/3/03). ------------------ |

You really don't need the notice to get it done or parts ordered. Just call the dealership. They all should have notices by now. I really goes my vin anyway. The mail notice if for the people that are not up on things like us. Kid Rock |
