Could anyone who has already had their ball joint recall done please post to let the rest of us know how much disassembly is needed to get this job done. Someone mentioned fender removal was required. If the fenders come off, that means you must remove the calipers. (a good time to do ceramic pads) I am just curious, but if the fenders are in danger, I will remove them myself!

Ken, the brake pad job takes about 30 minutes to do. I did not watch them replace my ball joints so I do not know what they disassembled. Sorry.

Sorry I also did not watch the abll joint replacement so I have no idea what they did. If they did remove the fender I can't tell it.

Since I dismantled my entire front end and reassembled, here goes. The fender, caliper, and bearing/hub that carries the wheel will have to be removed. Then the lower balljoint nut is removed and the ball joint is pressed out of the steering knuckle using a special tool. The strut will need to be unbolted from the lower A Arm. Then the lower A Arm should be removed and the ball joint is pressed out of the A Arm. The new joint is pressed into the A Arm, then the reverse installation.
